My wife actually joked that she'd seen that much flooding from the bathroom during the poker run.

My Dad lives in Boynton Beach. He is 75 and refused to leave.... Looks like Boynton was hit with maybe a Cat 1 but the good thing is he learned a lesson - He will never stay for a storm again.

I have to say this, the police did a great job. I was worried about break-ins at my townhouse in Delray. There were no problems, nobody was on the streets and there was no looting or bullchit. They did a great job and especially the guys looting they caught in Ft Lauderdale that were on the news.

“Going to prison over a pair of sneakers is a fairly bad life decision,” - Police

That is awesome!

I had friends leave that never left before, the ride back was the worst part.

We had no power for 3 days, I stayed at a snowbird's condo and had everything but internet!

The 8 dead people in the nursing home was the worst story I heard:
Hollywood nursing home with no power becomes death trap for 8 patients - Sun Sentinel

The first call for help from the sweltering nursing home came at 3 a.m. Wednesday: a patient in cardiac arrest. An hour later came the second call, a patient struggling to breathe. Only with the third call did rescue officials begin to realize the gravity of the situation. Rescue workers found three dead people on the second floor of the Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills. By the end of the day, five more were dead, all of them vulnerable elderly, ranging in age from 71 to 99.

Police have launched a criminal investigation into the deaths, blamed on the stifling heat inside the nursing home, which lost power and air conditioning Sunday during Hurricane Irma. In question are the actions taken to protect nursing home residents from the escalating heat.

Duck Key looked really bad in this news clip/interview:
8 die, 40 injured in Florida Keys as residents try to return to ravaged homes - Sun Sentinel

Duck Key is the island where Hawks Cay is, just north of Marathon. The resort's villas (which are individually owned) are all wood frame, they surely took a beating.

Hurricane Irma photos from the Florida Keys - Sun Sentinel

Good collection of 50 pics or so. Increase screen size and scroll. Key West looks pretty good, Cudjoe key not so much.

Key West mayor was interviewed yesterday on TWC and said he expects they will be open for visitors in 4 weeks.

I was in Key West after a bad hurricane, it was ok but not ideal. Rooms were moldy smelling, not all businesses were open yet. Same thing with the Bahamas, they want the revenue whether the place is actually ready or not.

I would think the docks would be something I would want to hear about before running a nice boat with TAOD paint and walking around splintered/broken docks.

Well,
We fared pretty good, lost the pool-screen enclosure, (1/2 ended up in the neighbor's yard) on our house and the back yard fence had 1 of our BIG palm trees leaning at 45 Deg. over the neighbors yard. The dock/lift ended up gathering all the busted up docks upstream's lumber.... The rental house did just fine, (It always does, built like a brick sh!t house, ) lost water for 2 days, (kinda a pain in a$$) had power the whole time....
