I knew which I wanted, just didn’t know how to get it/her!
During the same era, Baja did a photo shoot at the marina where my parents docked their cruiser.
They brought two bikini clad hotty/models for on the boats.
Just outside those shots (in their catalog) was me in my 8’ hydroplane, w/my mouth open!

LOL, great story Gary. Well at that age life's confusing, but I bet a year or two later, you wanted it All.

Finally feeling like a boat I can trust and challenge!
Spent this weekend on it on an island in Lake Erie and had a blast!
The motors are now running/behaving like new motors!
Still a bit of tuning to do but, damn they’re close!
Start, idle, shift, accelerate hard from an idle….., yay!
It’s now reminding me how much fun a well engineered cuddy cabin can be!
Had to outrun a storm on our exit this morning but didn’t miss a beat!

Launched at West Harbor and went to Middle Bass for their music fest.
Had been before and was epic once again.
A friend met us there w/their boat and plan was for me and him to take my boat around middle and north Bass and let er eat while the girls shopped but it never worked out.
Trying to get permission to race this in the vintage races on Put in Bay.
No roll bar, no fuel cell but I’ll race it if they’ll let me.

Thank you sir!
Just sold a 600hp ‘02 Trans Am to keep this.
So basic and simple and easy to work on.
It’s like therapy!
If you’ve got a 1/2 hr of free time, you can find something to improve.
2200 lbs and a 100hp?
The car is within (from the factory) 2 lbs of having dead nuts, equally front/rear weight bias!
The Brits knew what they were doing.
W/my TA you needed slicks and a road course to drive it at 8/10’s.
W/this thing, I can drive it at 10/10’s at 45 mph in a 4 wheel drift in the country roads by my house!
I am shopping for a donor motor to build.
Figure I can get 140-ish out of it.
Already done: (in prep for the next motor)
header + full stainless exhaust
ram air/velocity stacks
ported intake
alum radiatior
electric fan
electronic ignition
tires/rims
good plug wires
stripped the emissions
Have dropped probably 50 lbs as well
We Yanks have made fun of these cars forever but its actually a well designed, engineered and built car!
Everyone hates their SU carbs but once you figure them out, they’re brilliant!
Bonus points for being the most fun, easiest car to work on that I’ve ever owned!
And for bonus points, parts are easy to find and cheap!
