25% unemployment in michigan with certainly another ten percent to go once you figure the people who cant get a claim in the pathetic system we spent millions on and the thousands more who will be let go soon. thats ONE IN THREE people with no job and nothing saying their job is coming back either.

Won't matter if the unemployment application works or not. No way the states have the kind of money to pay the claims regardless. IL is so broke they already admitted it. And the states creating the most unemployment through their one size fits all decisions will be the first ones to blame the federal government for not helping bail them out. IMO most of the politicians don't know squat about how to run a huge business, and that's exactly what a state, or the US is. It will turn into a huge political blame game.

do you know the state actually had to sue the system developer because the system operates so poorly? do you know that same developer is most of the reason the sec. of state now has three hour waits and 2020 business licenses were not issued until late february?

I filed for unemployment for the first since 1980--and my wife filed for the first time ever. We both followed the posted schedule and filed 2 claims in about 25 minutes. After verifying our claims the payments hit our direct deposit accounts less than 48 hours later. The whole process was easy and painless.
I do know that we are both in the high risk group and are several months away from retirement--but were forced back to work as "essential" workers while managment and execs work from home to avoid any risk while second guessing every move we make.
The boating aspect seems to be a bit much--but the big picture depends on your point of view IMHO.

Blame it on the idiots congregating at the ramps that led to this situation, ramps were closed up here over a week ago. I got a email from the fairgrounds where I winter store our boat stating they will not unlock the facility and we cannot get to our boats during the ban.
No shortage of idiots here in FL but the Michigan situation is squarely on the ridiculous grandstanding gov.
