I've often wondered about these and thought it would be nice to be able to communicate but I'm assuming they with block out the bulk of the engine noise and I'm not sure I could handle that. I keep a close ear on my babies.

Good info guys thanks as I have been looking for these too.
Although, I go out on the boat so I don't have to listen to anybody talk......:blahblah: |
I had Rugged Radios system in my Fountain. Worked well. Wired for comms and bluetooth for stereo. Just sold the system recently.

I'm not the OP but I am also looking for affordable headsets for next summer. My Donzi puts the wind directly in our faces unless I clamp on the deflectors. The muffs we wear stay on fine if we just put the band forward a bit, like across our foreheads more. Cash Bar, do you think we could push them forward and keep them on our heads at 80 mph or 70 mph cruise? The price is right! I will price out the Sampsons also.
"... if budget is a concern, we might not be the right fit for your needs." lol That's me. I'm poor! |

They are reasonably narrow profile and fit well. They may stay on till 80. I wouldn't want to try 100+ in direct wind but I'd feel confident at your intended speeds. They are noise canceling and it's pretty solid.

Put a mike in the engine compartment. Pretty much once I get close to 80 all I can hear is wind noise and that's even with the mufflers off. I can barely keep my hair on at 80, I would need a chin strap to hold a headset that large on.

While we are on it. Any of you guys have a solution that fits inside a helmet? My kid races go-karts and looking for something I can talk to him on a walkie talkie and he has an earpiece.

Edit, I just looked and the same Brand Cash Bar has makes them for helmets as well. |
