Had both Pfizer shots as of 2/19. No side effects from either.

6 cases out of nearly 7 million doses--but around 100 kids die each year from eating peanuts????

Got my 1st Pfizer shot last night, my arm is a little sore, scheduled for 2nd shot 3 weeks from yesterday. GOT to get my shots, getting ready for some overseas business travels here soon...

The part that is even funnier is that Covid itself only kills 0.002% of children under 10, 0.01% at 25, .03% at 40 and .4% at 55

...and those stats are from November.

Undecided still, not anti by any means but the more I hear the so call experts talk about closing states again and not getting rid of the mask mandate & indoor dining restrictions. The beloved Doc F. not willing to comment on the real surge which is at the border the less I am inclined to think if the whole country received the shot they would allow freedoms to come back. We have 300k coming over the border monthly now, w/o masks, no testing and released into the country with God knows what and where virus wise and DocF has no comment. Does anyone else have a problem with moving goal posts.

Wow , that wasn't very lucky .
Of all the people that I've heard that have had both doses (and it's plenty) only 2 have had a reaction to jab 1
Hope you get luckier on round 2

May the Odds Be Forever In Your Favor

Anyone read about the Tuskegee Experiment?

You may have immunity for 90 days ... that is, you'll be immune to whatever variant of COVID you've been vaccinated for, if you gain immunity from the vaccine. Make sense? No?

Ask the person administering the vaccine what variant you are being vaccinated for. Alpha? Beta? Gamma? B.1.351? SAR.CoV.2? Clear? Hmmm ...

Try asking what is the probability is that you will become immune? ... and again ask, to which variant? Then ask how long that immunity will last for? ...

Maybe just ask how often does the virus mutate? How many variants does the vaccine cover?

How about ... How's the flu shot worked out for you? and ... How much revenue is generated annually from the administration of the flu shot?

That said, I work in Health Care and had COVID before anyone called this a pandemic. I have survived Ebola, SARS, Swine Flu, and a host of many other illnesses.

Have I gotten the vaccine? Nope...

Will I get the vaccine? Nope...

I was offered the vaccine for the public was offered the vaccine.

Not a chance I will trust the idiots running this country with a vaccine that broke records for time to market.

Got my 2nd 3 weeks ago. Moderna. Personally I find it a BIG relief. No side effects. I just feel more relaxed and not as worried.
The wife was way too paranoid before getting shots. Now she is easing up and we get to go see Friends again lol.
I still wear mask when going inside public places. Just because its the right thing to do. I will probably be a mask wearer in public businesses for a long time.
And this is the first year in a LONG time one of my guys hasn't had a cold or flu from their kids or something and and then it gets passed around to all of us at my business.
That alone makes the masks worth it to me.
To each his own. :ernaehrung004:

If anything I hope that all this at least teach people what we learned as kids and for whatever reason has been lost.

Wash your hands.

Clean the tables etc.

Cover your mouth when you sneeze.

If you are sick STAY HOME,,, I do not want whatever crud you have.

Yep... simple good manners, good hygiene, and not touching your mucous membranes after touching anything else... it ain't hard.

Yeah, Very True

In general, I believe that is why some people and some ethnicities were more prone to Covid and some werent. I cant put my finger on "clean" people because even the most well put together individual might be a table wiper (My chick wipes crumbs off the table while dining out and it drives me nuts, LOL) but I can tell you Covid ripped thru the Haitian population in S Florida and Central Florida.... So, I think good hygiene definitely has merit.

Well after being in quarantine for the last 3 weeks with my wife im back. My wife got it first and i got it from her like 3 days later. I had "almost" no symptoms...about the worst of mine were just chills and/or night sweats.....no fever or anything else....i did get a case of pink eye during this as well but went away quickly. My wife on the other hand didn't fair so well. Her "normal" temp is usually around 97 and for the entire time Ive known her (30yrs now) i have never known her to get sick....ever! If she ever feels the slightest bit weird thinking she may be coming down with something she takes two vit-c and two aspirin and she is back at 100% then next morning. But this thing really kicked her. She had a fever hovering around 100-101 and nothing affected it...Tylenol or Motrin etc. she got so bad by the 4th day she had no energy to get out of bed to go tot he bathroom. I took her to ER and come to find out she also had pneumonia! Doctor there said if we got there two days earlier they could have done something (huh???) now she just had to stick it out. Lucky (or unlucky) for her, her oxygen levels were below 90% so they kept her that night in the hospital. They did end up giving her a steroid shot to help clear the fluid out of her lungs. She ended up staying there a total of two nights on oxygen before they let her go. Thankfully never got bad enough to have to go on a respirator! Anyway she is back home now....but the thing that sucks is she needs to give herself a needle shot in the stomach for two weeks because a blood test showed markers of potential blood clotting issues due to this Covid crap! Her lung capacity was at half of what it should have been when she got out. She has a spirometer to help condition/test her lungs at home.
And its all thanks to some dumb ass 22yr old kid that felt sick and came to work anyway! Lucky no one else got it here at work.
The one thing i will tell you guys is while my wife was at the hospital the nurse there told her there's a lot of people there suffering from Covid even after getting both shots! So its a crap shoot either way it seems.
Im still apprehensive about getting the shot as i believe my own immune system is better then any man made crap (obviously there are exceptions to things) but i have never gotten a flu shot in my life and i usually do get the flu once during winter but it usually lasts about 2 days and its gone....i know friends who get the shot yearly and still get the flu anyway and suffer longer...
Anyway just stay safe out there people...wash your hands, dont lick door knobs and for cripes sake if you feel ill in anyway way, stay home! ;)

Good luck with it Dean....everyone i know that has gotten the shot thus far says the first one is just a sore spot where they stabbed you....the second shot all but two said they got sick for 1-3 days with a low grade fever and felt like crap but it was tolerable....

I had my second one last week Dean, the day after felt a little tired, took two Tylenol and a quick 30 min nap.

That is all, I have had worst hang overs by far.

I got my first Pfizer shot on Friday and was stuck in bed all day Saturday and most of Sunday. I went to work today but still feel like crap. I don’t think I’m getting the second shot. And yes, I have already had COVID, the only reason I got the shot in the first place was for 3 paid days off at work, which I will probably never use aside from being sick from the second shot if I get it.

hoodoo 04-26-2021 05:09 PM

Some doctors locally have questioned the rationale of a second shot for people who have previously contacted the virus.

That is exactly how I felt after 2nd shot- quick nap and on with live. Moderena. I have 20+ 18 to 30 yro people working for me and we are in pretty close quarters a few times during the day.
Very glad and relived now that fully vaccinated. Still mask up when going into businesses and job sites. Its just common curtesy as far as I am concerned.

I'm hearing the same thing though similar channels in my neck of the woods. Funny how this has not been communicated or discussed through the major "news" outlets.

So you`re vaccinated and you still mask up? What the point of getting the vaccine then?
At job site too ? Corona isn`t just flying around in the air trying to get you you realize that right?
I see it a sign of obedience not common courtesy .

I tend to forget about the rest of the country because we are basically back to normal. Florida be like "What mask..." Migrants from Chicago and New York have transplanted here arent leaving anytime soon.

People wear masks in the supermarket but in Delray and West Palm at restaurants, you'll be lucky to see 1% of people wearing masks and its typically someone who is more at risk.

I hope everyone, everywhere can get a feeling of "normal" soon. I really, really do! Even Biden supporters....

Glad you and the wife are ok. Based on some friends who have had a bad case of C19 It'll prob be 1-3 months before she is back to 95%.
My wife got flu like symptoms about 6 hrs after her 2nd Maderna shot that lasted about 16 hours. I had Pfizer and was only a little tired the day after my 2nd shot.
IMO, Being you both had C19, I wouldn't consider the vaccine until at least Fall as you both should have decent anti bodies now.

As of right now we are holding off until at least end of June since we are planning on going to FL for a vacation at the end of July.....so if the airlines require something we will have enough time to get them...if not then don't plan on getting it just yet. :)

I’ll second that. Diagnosed beginning of February and have been recovering since. The month of February was basically a wash and March I was forcing myself to do things even though I’d rather just sit and veg. April has been better, but not what I’d call 100 percent. I run out of steam really fast but that could be that I need to get back into a better workout routine.

My buddy had Covid right along with me and he just got his second shot. It put him on the floor for a couple days. I don’t plan on getting anything until fall, and when (if) I do, it’ll be the J&J.

Those who have been sick, I hope you’re recovering well.

AmiableDave 04-27-2021 02:03 PM

Received the Pfizer shots back in January. Haven't grown a third hand in the forehead yet. Although that would help holding a flashlight while I'm working on the boat.

I tossed the mask also. Haven't wore it anywhere in months.

Because you could possibly be a carrier after vaccinated. Or Not- I'm not sure and I don't think most people are. To each his own.
Some jobs sites its still a requirement to wear one. along w hard hat and a fuking reflective vest- reason for that? Insurance why else.
As far as flying around in the Air?? Really?? that chit is funny,. I'm pretty quick on my feet so I will duck
Obedience?? Doubtful- Here is what I think of obedience-
