Our boat was unnamed when we bought it. We had it painted by Mitcher T and when we went to pick it up, he asked what are we going to name it. We decided on "This Is Livin", it was a saying my wife's father always used to say up at the cottage. While we didn't bother with the full documentation with the Coast Guard, I did apply for an MMSI id as we boat on the Great Lakes and liked the idea of hitting one button for a mayday call. So the name is registered with the Coast Guard.

I went through a ritual I found online when I changed the name. This name came from a friend who used this term when he saw something very fast, referring to the carnival where the best rides took 5 tickets to get on.

Even though mine is a 97, I don't think it was ever named. I thought about it for a while and didn't want something cheesy that you see 100s of at every marina. I came up with "Tread Knot". The Gadsden Flag was the US Marine Corps' first flag, so being a Sgt of Marines "Don't Tread On Me" fits well. Goes with my politics too...

Bought it and changed the name to what I had on my 32' Fountain that I sold to buy it. Name is Haulin' Aft, my wife's name is Afton. I plan to keep the 39' NT Supervee forever and just keep updating it. If I were to sell, I would take the name with me.

Only named two of the boats I have had. Named a 30 Concept I had "Miss Conception". It was not previously named. Renamed my current 10 Meter Fountain because it had the previous owners last name(Ruben) in it. Was "Rubenator" I changed it to "Rejuvenator" with no ceremony. I could not keep "Rubenator" for a couple reasons. #1 was because people that didnt know Ruben was the guys last name thought it was pronounced rub-en-ator. #2 I did not want someone elses Last name in the name of my boat. #3 I thought it was a dumb name even if my name was Ruben. My wife came up with "Rejuvenator" and it worked on several levels so I went with it. Plus I picked the previous boats name and she never really liked.
