My boat was previously documented and it had a name on file (not on the boat when I bought it).

I renewed the documentation and changed the name.

I’m not superstitious whatsoever but the summer I changed my boat’s name, I bent 2 props and a pontoon hit my boat and chipped my less than a month old paint job.

My Panther was named "White Knuckle" when I bought it. It was a documented boat, but I did not document it. So, instead of changing the name I just painted the boat to match it's name. lol
My Active Thunder was named "Extreme Measures" and I also like the name. Only issue I have is trying to put the name on the new paint job and not looking out of place or just slapped on. I'm thinking of cutting out vinyl and sewing the name on to the sunpad. Any thought/ideas?

Rookie, my $0.02 is that your new paint is a work of art...I would leave the name off the boat (at least for the meantime) and buy the matching race jerseys with the boat name for those on board... if after getting the boat all together, you want to add the name, it's easy to

.... the paint work on your transom (the whole boat came out 10/10) is killer

Not that I'm superstitious or anything. But we had one of my wife's friends who's husband is a preacher write us up a prayer that we laminated and keep in the cabin. The original name was Terrible ll . We changed it to Sea-Gar . It's a play on Nancy and Gary. Plus it's mostly fishing boats down here. And I get asked alot if that is one of them cigar boats? Lol

OS,
I saw your 38 Top Gun going to the CB O/S races a couple of weeks ago, driving home on the Beachline! The Old School TG now has a racing heritage!:

The first boat I ever purchased was a STV Euroski - this would have been around the year 2000. About the same time, I watched a certain video of Tommy Lee & Pamela Anderson. Tommy Lee had a tattoo that said MAYHEM across his stomach - I thought that was fitting, so my STV was named "MAYHEM". I liked that name, so I named my Spectre 30 "MAYHEM" also.

No name on my Skater 28 - it's got "Skater" going down both sides in pretty big lettering so I think that's enough.

Nice timing. We are just about to get back into boating with my wife and now 3yrs old son. Going to start slow just to see how things work out. Just picking up our purchased Thundercraft Temptation 265.

Looking at naming it TARA-fied, after my wife Tara! Haven't told here yet. The current owner has no name on the boat so nothing special to change the name.

Named the boat after the Mythical Goddess Salacia.

King Neptune was having a party and he saw the beautiful Salacia. King Neptune wanted to have his way with her but Salacia, being a virgin, wasn't going to give it up so fast. So she left the party.
Heart Broken Neptune Sent a dolphin to scour the oceans to find Salacia and tell her that he loves her and wants her for his wife. That he will make her the goddess of all Oceans and Springs of both salt and fresh waters. Salacia agreed and for the good job the dolphin did, he was awarded a place in the heavens, where he now forms a well known constellation Delphinus. Salacia had three children. One of them was Triton.
Salacia is known for Calm seas.
