Good luck with the shakedown cruise. A ride in a 100MPH Fountain that's running well will make you whip out your checkbook STAT.
But, make sure to take a deep breath and pause before pulling the trigger. It appears to be in great shape for it's age, but it is an old boat, with gigantic blower motors and a paint job only a mother could love...IMHO.

And if I’m buying a boat. I’m buying a boat from him. I mean the guy grew up in the industry and knows his **** not to mention who is ol man is. Honestly it’s what is pushing me to buy the boat. I can buy a boat from a stranger and rely on what they say or I can buy a boat from John someone who has been in the high performance marine industry. If anyone has anything to say about John or Teague marine please speak up.
The paint job is very loud just like the boat. Can be changed with a wrap if we decide to do so. While I don’t like the look of the hatches the functionality of walking on them sitting on them leaning on them come in real handy they will stay.
In the end the condition of the boat the reputation behind the motors the way there over built all new plumbing done right drives are built XR with TCM parts for reliability 6k in props. I honestly feel like this is the right boat.
like I said any feedback please speak up I’m making my decision Friday.

Wow, sounds like you are close to joining the Fountain family. Welcome.
The only reason I recommended you pause, is that just a short time ago you were going to purchase a Baja with 496's. This Fountain is the complete opposite of your original plan. I wouldn't want you to have buyers remorse.
Have fun, keep safe, and post up some pictures/videos of this beast when she becomes yours.

If you go with the fountain you may want to think about changing pulleys to lower boost for most of the time when you want to run 90 octane and just be out with the wife.
Save the others for the poker run days. That may help a bit on the longevity of those motors. I know,,,,, just stay out of the boost,,,,, if its there that can be hard.

Important - A boat this fast requires that the pilot has the experience to keep themselves, their passengers, and other boaters safe. You were looking at boats with stock Merc power - this is a significant jump. If you do purchase, please sign yourself up for a high performance boat class offered by Tres Martin.
Another consideration is insurance. A lot of us can't even get insurance on smaller 30-ish foot stock-powered boats that are beyond a certain age. Can you insure it?
Lastly, you mentioned usage on a power plant lake as well as some trips to Loto. That's a lot of boat to stick in a lake, and without experience, really sketchy to use at Loto when things are crazy there. That boat's a huge swing in the opposite direction of what you were looking at when you started the thread.
I'd do all of your homework before going all. Not trying to rain on your parade, just being the voice of reason.

the insurance is a very good point I didn’t take into consideration I need to take a look at that for sure.

Thank you everyone for the advice recommendations suggestions. This is not a done deal I will be deciding for sure Friday and the boat would be delivered in 2 weeks. I won’t have the time to drive out to Havasu and pick it up I don’t think. So looking at having it delivered 1700 miles 1 way is a haul.
I would still like to hear opinions on Teague I guess Teague didn’t do the work but basically since he learned from one of the best in the Buisness. it seems like no one wants to say anything. Or maybe it’s because there is nothing to say. I just feel like that is a huge selling point for this boat. Having the security of knowing it was done right by someone that knows how to do it right.

Regarding insurance. Shop it before you buy the boat, you may find out the prospective insurance companies will require a survey of a 25 year old hull regardless of what the Teague or the seller states. They may also require you taking Martin's class. It does look clean.

You pretty much need to be a cash buyer, which makes me look at all these 150-180K boats and just be amazed they are selling. Not like you really can find much of any post 2009/10 performance V unless its big power Outerlimits, or huge priced Cig.
