Exactly how fast is "running at speed" or "on plane" is that like 20mph or 50mph?

When I was a kid I was out on Winnebago walleye fishing in a little 16’ boat and a poker run came by all around us. I thought it was cool as hell. Made my whole trip worth it.

I remember it being pretty rough for that little boat. Took water over bow a few times….from the wind not from the boats.

Minimal planed speed for the 25 Stingray family boat i would weekly crawl back to Bonita from Fort Myers in the dark through a shallow skinny intercoastal was 14-16mph.

Dash lights off, head over the windshield focused on the horizon and directly in front.. Hand on throttle ready to fall off plane.
Never outrun your field of vision.

45 footer i would think a minimum of 25mph to maintain plane.

There is a video of it. I don't have 10 posts yet so I can't post a url. Google "Boat hits paddle boat" and it is the first hit.
