I can deal with the tragedy of finding a body while purposefully clearing homes and impacted areas, Im not going to deal with it because somebody wants a boat in a marina removed. They should have a little more compassion.

There are a bunch of people that stayed on 55, 65, 75 foot vessels, this dude rode it out on a 35. He was like "hold my beer bitcches". I heard that Apache adopted this guy as their new spokesman:

If you stayed on a boat or on fort myers beach you were a fool. You had 24 hours to jump in a car and head over to Miami and sleep in the car.

But I am sure there was a lot of old poor people living in those trailers that didn’t have the means to evacuate.

My brother lives on his 36 foot trawler full time in Bimini basin in Cape Coral. 3 days before the hurricane He took his boat up above the Franklin locks up the caloosahatchee and got a slip in labell.

Than jumped in his van the Morning of the hurricane and drove over to west palm.

We were talking to our buddy who lives just off 41 near Estero a mile from the back bay and they hade neighbors who were in their attics because of high water.

My late aunt and uncle nearly drowned in their attic in Marathon during Donna in 1960. The water came well into their attic. Pretty much a dead end unless you have a way to cut an escape hole.

There used to be a bar on 41 in north Naples that had a water line 3 feet up the wall leftover from hurricane Donna, long before Global Warming.

Well the hunt for a marina to haul or store my buddies boats isn’t looking good.

We usually run the boats 40 miles up the Coloosahatchee to Glades marina as there prices are worth the trip and they have a do it your self yard as well as we know the guy who owns the shop out back that does phenomenal work.

Their already booked until February for doit your self yard work.

They have a huge storage yard but when we checked on it on Thursday it is already nearly full .

I would hope to find a waterfront homeowner to dock the boats until we can haul them but I’m afraid most will not want the liability after this hurricane .

There is a couple small yards up in the Tampa Bay Area but their usually at capacity over the years.
