I've been told top speed gains are 2-3 mph, but there's larger gains in midrange acceleration than those top end numbers would imply. The 500Rs should get a lot of these outboard cats to break the 140 mark now, which is incredible. I've heard the insurance companies are already aware of the liability these lightweight/fast rigs are going to be and are charging accordingly for 500R powered rigs.

I had the same question especially how their previous video showed him testing a different MTI out with the new 500s, my guess it was a re sticker, no biggie either way, a big win for Mercury and them, I dig their content…

If you watch their regular content, they had 450's on the new boat, pulled them to sell them, put on the 500's just before they splashed to go.

Burton, Bob Kaiser, Howe, Ect all have 500's on their OB cats.
I'm assuming the performance gain is minimal and that's why no one has come out and posted numbers. The bigger gain will be not chucking lowers like the 450 does when run hard.
