Who taught you to drive a boat???

Dad had a 37' 1965 Egg Harbor. Sometimes he'd let me drive out or dock when coming back.
My current boat is small and very manuvable, so not to bad. My next boat will be another story. I would like to practice manuvers with spring lines.
The ultimate test for me would be docking just south of the bridge on ICW between Key Largo and Biscayne Bay (after going through the mangroves). That current is pretty kickin' at that Bar/Restaurant.
Miami Beach Marina has some kickin' currents too. I watch my buddy do it and pray I can do the same.
