700k??? Jesus Christ! For that price I would have to be able to live in it full time (how would it look with a mail box hanging off the side?), drive it to work and, if I bought it...and my wife found out...it better give a pretty mean BJ too!

More power (so to speak) to you guys that can afford that.

I can't afford 700k either, but I should be able to swing a nice 2-3 year old 42 with big fresh power. Not every bell and whistle but it will be fast and handle good. I will have to slow it down a bit with a gen. and a/c.

If putting in big power was thew fix all I would just put some 1400's in my 42 Sonic, it has everything I want but speed. I think I would wind up with a 115 mph bad handling boat that didn't feel safe at that speed. They are built to go about 80 not 115.

I know that this is pretty much out of 99.9% of everyones league but we built a 51 with A/C, Diesel Gen. and tripple 1200 sterling's that ran 130mph. It was for oversees royalty.This is a great thread. I don't think any of us should knock Fountain or for that matter any other boat co., but I think it's great that Mike Fiore has taken OL to the next level with the epoxy stuff he's doing. Just like every succseful company you have to evolve sometime. Just my two cents.

Our 35 Twinstep fountain, had Whippled 540's and ran 104.6 on GPS. Believe me you knew you were running that fast. Maybe the scream of those Whipples or the attention you had to pay to keep it on the pad, but you didnt question how fast you went. Having never driven an Outerlimits, when I water tested the 37 Quad step, I failed to take my hand held GPS, the chart plotter in the boat would not register speed over ground, and the speedo had a bent pito tube. I ran the boat up to 5400 rpm, we were on a small lake, with six people in the boat. I asked the salesman how fast did he think the boat ran? He said 108-110 mph, Your kidding right, their is no way that boat ran that fast. I didnt move, hop, chinewalk, nothing but accelerate I felt like maybe 85-90 mph. After talking both to Mike Fiore, and Paul, both assured me, with that gear ratio, prop pitch, and slip that the boats usually run. It was running the quoted speed, I cant wait to get it in the water with a gps. I still can't believe the boat ran that fast. It was said earlier, 100 was truly unimpressive in that boat.

I agree with the Sonic comment. They make a great preformance cruiser. I am gonna get shot for that one. Ya gotta love all that room in the cabin.

Well.....I've been in a 26 Velocity running well into the 80's and it felt like it was solid as a rock.........until we hit that jet ski wake.

The definition of Outerlimits is spending $700,000 on a boat in 2003 and selling it for $500,000 in 2004 because your 2005 is on order.
