I have been too busy to stop by here.
the hull you see above is now starting to look like a boat. more pics wil come. well the engines are sea teks. I think super termoli will answes this for you. (I cant remember my head is so full of styrene at the moment) |
I hope by now all of you have seen the diesel engine article in Power Boat Magazine. Probably the most promising package that is available to the masses now is the Cummins/Mercruiser ,QSC 540hp 1200+ lbs ft of torque. Widely available parts & service network & extremely durable engine & Mercruiser drive.

Re: Diesel powered sport boats?
Hi fellow Offshorers,
It has been more than a year since this thread went by the wayside. Are there now more options for a diesel performance marine engine to power a 30 foot boat? |

Re: Diesel powered sport boats?
Hi Stormrider,
I guess I was hoping for more torque, say from a marinized Duramax or a Cummins QSM11... :hothead: |
Re: Diesel powered sport boats?
Heck, I'd even settle for a 7.3 L Ford Powerstroke - anyone marinize those? :drink:

Re: Diesel powered sport boats?
There will be a Twin Turbo Duramax out very soon. It has alot of custom pieces, by GM. The first series will be 900 hp followed by 1200 and 1400. They are talking about a 3000 hr warranty on the 900 right now. It should really be interesting. They are also giving them a 5000 RPM limit.
