Does a diesel center console count

Do such boats exist? I've seen that Mercruiser has a new line of diesel motors w/stern drives. Have these motors made it into sport boats?
I've seen diesel powered mega sport/cruiser boats (magnum for example), but not 24-40ft sport boats. You can expect to see one of these at AYC in mid to late June |

Almost everything inboard in England is diesel - our new boat is a racer and has diesels - Yanmar are one of the biggest over here as well as Stateside, with Gas prices so high and the economy of the latest high pressure direct injection motors it's a no brainer. We hope to get 2.6 miles to a litre at 70 mph which is just over 0.5 of a US gallon - I think a US gallon is 4 litres? The motors we're using are the Yanmar 3 litre 260hp models

Just went through this thread and very interesting read through the years. Any diesel update guys? How about on those Volvo's. I only hear good things on their D6-350 and D6-370. Soon D6-400... |
I have a 37 Spectre CC with twin Yanmar 6LP's and Bravo X drives, does 55 wide open cruise at 45 getting 2-2.2mpg or slow down to 38 and get 2.5mpg . I am still playing with the setup and I think I can get closer to 3 mpg at mid 30' speeds.

We built a 390 CC with the new 370 HP V8 Yanmars.
60 MPH top end with the Yanmar duo prop drives. 30 MPH = 3 MPH 50 MPH is over 2 MPG. Building an all new sporty boat with them now. |

Think you were still at the show so missed you. That is going to be one cool boat. Very elegant like it belongs on the Med with a European flare to it. Can't wait to see the finished product. Bob |
Hi!
Check this one: http://goldfishboat.com/individuals/...p1-supersport/ One of the best offshore boats out there. Max speed 117 mph. Runs honest 80 mph with 2 x 380 Yanmars. Cheeers, Toffen |

December 2011 Diesel world magazine has a 25’ Nordic powered by a 2006 Duramax with a water cooled Garret DCX4508 turbo sending power to the IMCO drive with 30-pitch prop via an Allison transmission. Bat is reported to run over 100 with a cruise speed around 60mph using about 7 mpg rather than the original 2-3 mpg with original engine.
