Steyr-Motors
I have a 32 ft race boat in the UK with 2 x Steyr-Motors 295hp on Bravo XR drives with ITS. Just got a Marathon E class speed National / World record of 74.52 MPH, 2 way 1 km runs, on Tuesday.

Good looking boat and congrats on the record!:drink:

Video of run
Thanks, and for anyone who might be interested, here's a rear view from Swipes doing a run on Tuesday. it's a big file, so don't bother unless you're on a good connection. 11 mins total, and to be honest, not the best footage as the lens gets a few water blobs on it, but does show a bit of the beauty of Coniston Water.
Good enough resolution to view full screen if you wish. www.boatmad.com/vids/coniston.wmv |

We were up there with Nick (2-XS-IF) and Jon as we race in the same class - we have the Yanmar BY260's in our boat running totally standard and achieved 70mph on one of our runs with what turned out to be the wrong props - couldn't touch Nick's speed unfortunately but the real test is in next year's racing which I can't wait for!
Well done to them for the record - hope we can take it next year! Photo from www.luvmyboat.com |
Hey Cookee -- what do you need steps for if only the back 2 ft is in the water? lol
Great pic and love the boat. Congrats to 2-xs-if on the record. |

December 2011 Diesel world magazine has a 25’ Nordic powered by a 2006 Duramax with a water cooled Garret DCX4508 turbo sending power to the IMCO drive with 30-pitch prop via an Allison transmission. Bat is reported to run over 100 with a cruise speed around 60mph using about 7 mpg rather than the original 2-3 mpg with original engine.
:lolhit: I think Diesel World needs to check their flow meter calibration. Michael |
