Chris,
I added a drive shower and lost speed. The boat manufacturer replaced the dual pick up type drive shower with a single type (WPM) pick up. That put my speed back to normal. They also added a 1" drive spacer at the same time. I understand that high X dimension boats can possibly have a little more noticable losses in speed due to prop cavitation and slippage by using a dual pick up drive shower. I am no expert by any stretch, however I am satisified with my single type pick up drive shower. Last year I added external steering, so my WPM shower no longer could be used. I know use a Lathem single pick up drive shower.

I have two(2) brand-new "Rex Marine" single stainless steel hose type drive coolers for sale for $100.00 each...if anyone needs them. They work great, with NO speed loss. Thanks, Ed

I put simreks on my outdrives and noticed no change in performance. Plus they look cool!

By testing them with a hose, I think the Simerek design does produce more water over the entire upper drive area better than the other.
I have (2) of the Simereks in the garage that will fit on MM steering with the adjustable tips. (have Imco on the existing boat).
So, if you know anyone needing the showers, or if you want to try the tips only later, give me a call, and I'll ship them to you (free).... with help an OSO brother anytime.

WOW... that is an extremely NICE offer... Thanks...

I installed the Simrek last night and splashed the boat, seems to work great, no cavitation, but I have no idea if there was any speed loss.... what could it possibly be 1 mph...

Adam-

Do you still have the Simreks for sale? Are they Halos or Summits? I'm interested...

Chris in Vegas-
they are the Simerek Showers (the one with more holes- not sure- Summits??)
but they will only work with MM external steering due to the clip that holds the shower to the drive.
I have Imco external steering and they won't work.
I have (2) sets with the adjustable tips still in the original box in the garage.
PM for a price

Thanks- Adam
