Re: Miami Show TMP1600
Steve, as a former and current customer of yours....(I have a set being freshened up with intercooled whipples being installed) I have a compliant. Please change the color of your motors from (GREEN) to something different. It appears to be having a psychological impact on other engine builders. They are experiencing a level of jealousy and animosity only rivaled by a need to compensate for something that mother nature herself deemed appropriate for them years ago. Keep up the good work......it cracks me up to see these guys laying awake at night trying to discredit you. You guys need to get a life...you are obviously not building any motors because you are on OSO 24 hours a day. And another thing, I don't care who came up with the lifters or the technology or what computer they use....it works...period. One last thing, I buy their motors and run the hell out of them and they stand behind them. That is all I ever wanted in group of guys that build engines. A few of you are certainly not comfortable with TMP's products so...write on you forehead with a magic marker "Don't buy any TMP motors today". That way when you get up in the morning you will see it in the mirror and you willl be out of danger for the day...then repeat it again for the next few days and you will be fine. Most of the guys who are actively in the market for big horspower and can AFFORD them do not spend all day jerkin off on oso. They are out making money so that they can afford big toys. When they get them....they actually go out and use them. They are not trying to cope with thier personal insecurities on an internet chat room. Fire off all you want too.....I speak the truth!
PS, I was there when the latest set of engines made 1414 HP on 100 octane and I have it on video. It seems that if you don't believe it, it can't be true??? Get a life. |
Re: Miami Show TMP1600
From an engine builders point of view, you can move a tremendous amount of air with all the latest spreadport heads on the market, that would allow you to bring up the NA HP figures and net bigger blown HP gains with a lot less boost. I would hope you understand this and are planning on implementing spreadport heads for your big HP engines.
Blower motors are no different than NA motors. You build the engine to make maximum HP at a NA level with the proper comp. ratio figured, then add the supercharger. This will add a whole lot more reliably to your combos. |

Does this offer extend to ANYONE who uses JASSMAN'S NAME? :D :evilb: |

Re: Miami Show TMP1600
I don't have a problem sending sending the bills to Jeff.
On the other hand, he may not like it since he has his own motors to pay for. Nobody, I have the video also. We just got the software to publish it as an mpeg. Just have not had time. Will get to it as soon as possible. |

I think its Great that we have some enthusiastic engine builders who are working their as## off to bring better products to the boating industry. Nothing is worse than trying to start your boat on a weekend after a long week of work and your motors don't start.I know Nortech would not be involved with a fly by night motor builder, they are the most paticular builder I've ever spoke with about quality and most importantly reliability, and is'nt that what we all are after. Tmp does'nt seem to be bragging just letting the members know that technology is improving in the marine motor industry. Steve, tmp, and Jazzby are all good honest people, I cant wait for the new nortechs with the 1600's to make a statement at this years loto shootout. As a Nortech dealer I'm going to make sure Tmp motors are in one of our new 39 v's. Don't fight evolution , lets just let them work their magic after all the season is right around the corner. we will all know soon enough if the 1600 works. good luck to TMP. don't let people on here bother you. You guys stay focused and bring us boaters more reliable motors. thanks jim midwest performance marine.

Hey Jim,
Thanks for the support and we look forward to working with you. |
Re: Miami Show TMP1600
No magic to building high HP reliably, just knowing what your doing will go a long way.

Re: Miami Show TMP1600
Do you have any dealers in north east? 1200s no warranty right? 1050 6 mo.

Re: Miami Show TMP1600
Brydman,
We do not have any dealers in the NE. If you have a shop that you are comfortable with, then we can set them up with the software to take care of any issues should they arise. This is just so you would not have to come all the way back to us from the NE. The 1050 does have 6 mo. and the 1200/1400 comes with 90 day. |
Re: Miami Show TMP1600
Nobody,
Your right, there is no magic. Knowing what you are doing sure will save you some time and money. Any motor can make big numbers, but not all will stay together if they are not happy. Every motor has a point at which it is not happy anymore, that may be 1000 hp or 1500 hp. If it is not right, it will never survive a 200 mile poker run. There are only a handful of builders in the country that have a good handle on it. |

How much to become a dealer? Northeast!

Re: Miami Show TMP1600
Are you talking about the shootout in LOTO. If so, then yes we will. We will have the canopied 36 Nortech with 1600's. Be glad to take you for a spin.

I think you guys should run some big numbers in a 36 Nortech if it has 1600 HP. I've been going for the last 5 years awesome event. I might have to take you up on that, but I'll bring my own GPS. |
Re: Miami Show TMP1600
1chornet,
If anything in that engine fails, we will fix it at no charge to you. You must change the oil every 10 hours (have some sort of proof, reciept from autozone for oil and filter, bill from another shop, etc) If it is a minor problem, we will try to send you to someone near you. That is why we are setting up the dealers. If it is major, then it must come back to us. Either just the motor or the whole rig, your choice. If we do not do the install, then there are certain things that we require(fuel line size, water line size, basic stuff)that must be done to ensure the engine gets sufficient fuel and water etc. If the boat is new, we will fly someone to the manufacturer to aid in the install and work with them the entire way as to the requirements of the motor. The install is no different than a Merc. 500efi. They are 100 percent complete with a Merc. style plug etc. |
Re: Miami Show TMP1600
I have TMP motor. It's not one of the monsters causing all this BS.but if I had the money I'd order it right now. TMP has done everything they told me and worked me through some real mistakes. Anybody can call someone out. These guys are putting big motors in hot boats. The other jokers are just whiners. Give us a break
|
Re: Miami Show TMP1600
You should drive a pair of 1800s to the Fountain powerboat plant, and let reggie put it in his new race boat and that is how you would get on the map. With 1500s, he went 183 MPH.1800s would surely make a stink.

Re: Miami Show TMP1600
What are your dealers going to do?
|
Re: Miami Show TMP1600
Nortech is claiming 205 with 1600 hp.The problem is going to be getting the thing wound up in that short distance. I think their numbers may be a little optimistic, but I hope not. We will know in a few months. We have never been to LOTO and are looking forward to it. I will be happy with 190. There has never been a Nortech close to those speeds, so we are in uncharted territory. If anyone can do it, I think they can.
Does anyone know the distance at LOTO? How long is the course? How much room to get on plane or head start? |

Re: Miami Show TMP1600
1 mile standing start. You idle through the blocks and if they think your not fudging idle speed they drop the flag. Have to come on plane and accell. all in 1 mile.
|
Re: Miami Show TMP1600
Hey Bob,
Have not heard from you in over a year. Motor must be running fine. Give me a call on Monday. JC I would love the chance to put a pair in a Fountain. I wish I could afford to just give them a pair to make a run. The parts are just soooo expensive. As far as dealers, we are looking for manufacturers or boat dealers to carry our engines and service them. They could buy at a discounted price for resale and handle any warranty issues for which they would be paid. |
Re: Miami Show TMP1600
1 mile, thats going to be tough with 1:1 gears. I don't know why, but I was under the impression that you get a 1 mile head start and a 1 mile course, for a total of 2 miles.
|
Re: Miami Show TMP1600
Would dealers be able to sell your motors at a pre-determined number by you?
|
Re: Miami Show TMP1600
Sorry throttled a boat last year in it. If you fudge any they send you back to the blocks.
|
Re: Miami Show TMP1600
I might be a mouth, but you know who I'm talking about. The only business your conducting is busting someones balls. as far as knowledge if you can afford one of these motors you better go see the builders first hand. This is all just a bunch of talk until you do the research in person. glad the weather is breaking and Im boating again. The cold must be getting to some of you.
|
Re: Miami Show TMP1600
the dealers will sell at the same price that we sell to the public, but they will buy at a discounted rate. The dealer will be able to make as much if not more by selling our motor over a Merc. The discount depends on the number of motors purchased in a year but it is very generous. If you would like you can call us at the office on Monday to discuss it in detail. We can also make a deal on the first motor to try it out. We have not been around as long as Sterling and KE and obviously some people are still skeptical, so we will sell the first one or pair at a discounted rate so that you may try it out before agreeing to buy more.
