Use the AMSOIL 15w50 Dominator Racing Oil.
Everyone else ought know that M-1 SilverCap with 1400 ppm Zinc is right up there as well. Wally Land sell it in gallons too and a Purolator or M-1 oil filter should get you on the lake in style. Probably 30-40 hr change is fine. |

It's a good premium synthetic oil and for folks who race it's the one.

I just ordered a case of the Amsoil 20-50 Syn HiPerf Motor Oil last week. What's the difference in that from the 20-50 Racing Oil... additives?

That is a good question. "Race" oils are reportedly formulated with no detergents, corrosion inhibitors, etc. etc. that are in oils used in extended service/storage because the 'race' oils are supposed to be changed after each 'race' so those types of additives are not needed. Is that the case with the Amsoil 20W50 Series 2000 racing oil and now its replacement, the 15W50 Doninator oil?

Some oils labeled for "Racing" do not have detergents which cut down on engine knock. They are for one race and out.
I do not have tests of the oil in question to see if it a detergent oil.. |
