Re: shifters real stiff?
My twin Fountain shifts hard on both drives. I took one of the covers off to check the ball detent. Not much grease there but they moved fine, the ball and sleeve were not stuck so I put it back together. Still takes more effort on the shifters than I think it should. My wife has more trouble than me but I'm afraid it will cost big bucks to get it fixed. I had already checked all the cables. I dont know what the next step would be.

did it ! Plenty of grease on them, still hard to move shifters. Must be the lower cables, local guy wants $650 to do both lower cables. Is that a fair price?
