fuel sending unit problem
Put the boat away last fall, fuel guage worked fine. Getting ready for launch I drained the tank and filled with fresh fuel. The new ethanol stuff. Used about a half tank but the guage still reads full. I pulled the sending unit and when its out the guage reads empty, which is what I would expect. I filled a bottle with gas ( old stuff) put the sender in and it reads full. As I take the unit out the guage goes down accordingly but when I put it in the half full tank it reads full. The sender is the type with just a tube, no float. Could this have anything to do with the ethanol? Anyone else experience this?

there should be a screw on top for calibration I would put back in and try fine tuning it and see if it makes any differance if not replace......

Re: fuel sending unit problem
There's 2 screws. One for empty and one for full. Adjusted both. It works fine out of the tank in an external container but when I install it using the same electrical connections, it reads full. WTF.
