Yeah guys, you were right. I checked the schematic and low and behold I do have two solenoids. Silly me.
Just got back in from testing it out and sure enough the slave solenoid is bad. I jumped it with a pair of pliers and she cranked over immediately. Tried the keyswitch and "click!", jumped it again and she cranks.
Thank you all, now I know what to replace.
Gotta love this place.

This sounds similar to what i have had happen
From time to time I am not able to get the motors started.
I would just get one 'click' when turning the key.
It first started wit hthe port motor. Then the starboard over teh course of the year.
It does not do it everytime. Seems to happen most when hot.
I could hit the key several times and then it would start.
Seems to me tho' that I was thinking it was the starter or even the starter soleniod. The bilge did have water in it one time. Fresh. Ever since then it has happened.

Another item to look at is the ignition switch. Check voltage at switch and solonoid. Mine was soooo full of saltwater once (installed upside down with drain hole on top ) the engine would not turn OFF . It did not work very well after that.
