Was told it wasn't linkage or coupler.
Prop is in good shape. No signs of dings, nicks?
Any ideas? Could props blades have warped, etc to a point where it can increase RPM's?
He may have been on the verge of hitting limiter with warmer temps and load. If he is running now with cooler temps, hence making more power it could be turning the extra couple of rpm to engage the limiter. Wait and see what happens with the outdoor air temps move up and or load increases in boat. More people and higher temps may be the difference in 25-50 rpm that can hardly be seen on tach. Just a guess here.
