Well it's like this, the cam is the brain of the engine. If you have a stupid (stock) cam, you can give the motor all the best resources in the world. In the end it is still stupid because the cam can't really exploit benefits of the better breathing parts because it has been programmed to be slow and stupid. Can't fix stupid.

Rocker with a different ratio will change the valve timing.
If enough to make a difference, who knows except those who have tried it.

Stock 330HP Flat Tappet:
287/302 at .004"
278/289 at .006"
214/218 at .050"
111/119 at .200" Note: this measurement is where motors make their power and this duration is lame.

.460" / .480" lift with 1.7 rocker ratio
.487" / .508 with 1.8 rocker ratio

========================

killer heads aren't going to make much more power with this lame 0 cam.

The cam is good for a quazzilion hrs without breaking valvetrain parts though. And thus why it was used for standard low hp 454 applications.

.020 Which is useles....

Plus, dont forget, what you hasnt been mentioned yet is that you will be changing your push rod geometry a little. Again, not worth it.

I disagree. Look though out internet forum history and look to see how many "How do i adjust my valves / rockers" threads are out there.

Neither.

USA Shop Monkey Standard. We have been using this measurement in the US Northeast since long before we saw Metric standards come into play.

In fact, I would dare to say that the only people on Earth that can measure this way are located in the US.

In my shop, the lowest we can measure/turn with a wrench/see/or make $$$ is 1 C Hair. The highest, is 1 schit ton.

Anything outside of that is outside our relm of capabilities.

You must be younger or didn't work at a shop long time ago. Maybe it's just my section of the NE, I don't know. I've never lived/worked further than 100 miles from where I am now.

Anyway, there was a certain someone that must have got around, if you know what I mean, with many different guys from many different shops. So, when someone mentions a C Hair, we know exactly what he is talking about.

I guess you missed out. She was good !
