Tim again options seeing that you still have parts to buy that are not going to be worth half the price later if you decide to upgrade. If you already have intakes, carbs, the RIGHT size/type fuel and ignition systems then its a no brainer. If not price all those items out take the difference in price and benefits between the 2 before you decide.

1st pull was about 400 HP with Whipple tune set at 50 PSI fuel pressure as requested by Whipple making AFR in the low 9's. Dropped the fuel pressure down to 25 PSI and got just over 550 HP at 11 to 1 AFR. IAC was gone in the factory ICU and all I got from Whipple is "run it it will be fine". Holley to the rescue.

even at double the money I just cannot, I totally get what you say about value later, but it is what it is... all I need to do now is spend 2000-2500 on carbs... done..

I wheel and deal parts all the time, I can do it later if it's must, I just don't see it being a must in this situation..

A 4500 series carb is most definitely taller than a 4150!
I just sold a dominator and it was just under an inch taller than the 4150 I kept.

Also, I meant no disrespect in saying that you were monitarily limited on this project tim.

Just that for most of us, money is a factor in what we do with what we have.

If money wasn't an issue, I'd have a twin engine 35+ foot boat as opposed to my single 24-7

According to prosystems here, the difference between a 4150 and a 4500 flange heights, is 1/4 inch. 3.25 for the 4150, 3.5 for the 4500. I wonder if thats why a professional products 4500 intake, is .280 shorter, than the 4150 intake. Maybe to make up the difference and have the same hood clearance? I do not have a dominator here to measure. Also, not sure on the quick fuels, as they use a different main body than a typical holley. It be nice to get some precise measurments from the manufacturers, but none of them seem to publish that.

While looking for the height measurements I came across a few people saying the newer dominators are different in height from the older ones so add that into consideration if true. I can't believe it's so difficult to find the actual heights of the two most common carbs in motorsports.
