I have cleaned coolers using my $3000 Gtec agitated cooler flusher, it sends heated cleaner thru at 200 degrees agitated with 150 psi air and reverses to loosen up stuff BUT it was never meant for a cooler that flows as much as a engine oil cooler, the ones we did didnt have chunks of bearings in them either, if it was little grit I would say yes but as far as chards of metal, just buy new.

Hey Tim, try Mr Cool. Great guy and he has great prices. Rookie recommended him to me. I was in a rush for my coolers and don't do credit cards. He sent my coolers that day and I mailed him a check. He even called me the next to make sure I had received them as he had overnighted them to me. Super guy to deal with and good quality coolers. https://www.mrcool.us/

Was the filter before or after the cooler when it blew and how bad of destruction? A bearing knocking vs losing all the needle bearings on a few lifters is a big difference.

Ask if he still gives an OSO discount.

mine now are 1/2" NPT oil fittings, the Mr cool ones are 3/4, is there that much need to go bigger? if I buy I would like to do 2, and have them match if need 3/4 in and out, but 1/2 has been fine before.... and my oil filter adaptors are 1/2" also, I can't believe I cannot find exact replacement for what I have now???

Give him a call. The coolers I bought about this time last year are 1/2 NPT oil in and out.
