so you see the story again bought 5 sets of supposed morel marine lifters,they all got installed.on 1 motor that I was test firing on the stand(I do that to catch anything),while running looked in the oil fill cap of the 2 piece valve cover.after 5 minutes of run time there was no oil in the upper end.
no engine failure,just had to modify all 5 sets to get them to oil the top end.
btw seagull,all 5 motors still run.
so check back w/ me in 10yrs,,the story will still be the same.

Sutphen 30, are you still upset about the morel lifters straub sold you, that you claimed made the blower motors you built , seize valves , and fail, and you accused him of selling you bad lifters ? Lol.. and all you guys made fun of full force tim for running a lifter bore clearance his "engine developer " said was ok to run... Funny, SB claimed those lifters you had spread at the forks , and were a street lifter in another thread.
Now, being that i run morel lifters , as well as several of friends engines, i know that morels street lifter, is NOT a fork style lifter. If you guys arent aware of that, you might try GOOGLE. I know SB has been quick to slam insults, and i would have thought he woukd know morel does not, nor has ever made a "street" fork style lifter, and an engine builder of your caliber, would know this too.
I just read an hours worth of the thread here where once again, you, zone 5, SB, were taking up valuable space, with accusations, insults, and zero facts. Again, with the same party, and the whole time you guys repeatedly over and over, tried slamming straub in every way possible, he responded with data, and facts.
You guys have plastered your hatred all over boatfreaks, and oso about this guy, and sucked so many guys into it as well. I loved the insults from Brian41 , about how he googled straubs address, and it was trees. And how he stocks nothing , and drop ships parts, doesnt actually build engines, or have a legit facility. Amazing, because i think they may have mistaken straub, for bob M. I did google straubs address, and im seeing a decent sized commercial warehouse. Cant say that much for the other guy, who claims to do engine development, balancing, dyno tuning, block machining, cylinder head work, from a 1200 sq ft single family home with a lawnmower shed out back. This whole site has turned into a bunch of boatless, keyboard bullies, with more political bs than Hilarys camp.

I never called anyone out on anything. I simply asked Zone5 to explain why he saiad 305's were "on the edge" of a 540 turning 5600 rpm and how/why 315's would be better...which he never did. I went ahead and tried to show, using solid, known design criteria, why he was wrong in that statement. The whole 7000rpm thing was just used for comparison example. I didn't amend my argument; my argument had nothing to do with a 540 turning 7000rpm. Funny thing is, I could have left it alone and no one here would have known the difference, especially Z5, but in the interest of full disclosure and posting correct information, I felt the need to make the correction. Sorry you feel the need to turn that into something negative.

I have had Straub speced engines in my shop so yes I have experience with the carnage that goes back about 10 years. I have seen nothing of him since then and thought that he was long gone until seeing his name pop back up in the past couple of years. You just showed proof that he asked me to look him up, I did and the address at that time came up as a vacant lot of trees in a commercial park, I stated that and he did not dispute it.

So Dale, what is the deal? you already buy the 310's? or still looking? decides shortblock and goals then look at heads... or if you have the heads already maximize the parts you have..

Yep. This group of guys wants to constantly talk about peoples credentials. Like you said, most of us are boat owners and do it yourselfers here. They want to talk about others credentials, ....i dont see you or i claiming to have a engine building business, with a website listing all the things we do (when in reality do none of them). Giving me chit because i had mike t put my shortblocks together....
Id like to see the engines bob has built from scratch himself, rigged for marine, and installed in a boat, and ran for several seasons. I dont see anyone questioning whether he is qualified to discuss a lifter, when in fact he is not an engine builder either.
Oso has become land of the guys who dont own an offshore boat, let alone any boat, guys who have non running engines, etc. Guys who claim success where there has been none, and love to talk behind the scenes about what they think they know. Most of these guys, are dead silent when it comes to talking about rigging boats, propping boats, setting up x dimensions, tuning, , and so on. But they are always there trolling to discredit others info, when their little light bulb goes off. Reversion! Yes!! Straub! Yes !

Life is full of ups and downs, learning, making mistakes and everything inbetween.... not one person is perfect, and normally the guys acting as if they are, are the ones to watch out for, they will take you for every cent, and make the person feel stupid and misguide what's really needed. Look what happened to Dale with the last engines.... I hope he makes better decisions and not learn the hard way again, I know I learned the hard way and it sucks, but to have guys tell you that you are an idiot sucks when you are just trying to do cool stuff and have fun... like 90% of the guys here.. then you have "those guys" would never want to be a part of that type of person, if belittling others makes them feel better then they are the actual problem..
I don't know it all, willing to learn and have had good success and bad success, even with the bad I would rather throw money away then give it to some of the crooks on this site....
