I would redo the whole transom if you are going to keep the boat. The patch work looks like crap after while. Your exhaust holes will change as the motor height will change.

Or Find some Konrads and you will have it converted in a day. And able to buy props at a more affordable cost.

hmm, I thought the engines just come back some, I would not do Konrads, I don't think they are much stronger then a TRS really if any, still a single shaft lower.. that's my opinion though..

I used to break Trs's with 500hp on my 38. Boosted the the power 100hp and at least 100ftlbs of torque to 689 ft lbs and never blew a drive after they upgraded the gears.(there was a bad batch of gears). 200+ Hours of Lake Michigan rough water. Just my opinion and experience.

The height will change depending on which drive you go with.

yea, I had 3 gear fails last year in 10 hours, seems it was a bad case, I have 50 on my spare with lots of abuse and still going... 630 hp 640TQ, the 3's I am looking at are just 3's, not 3A, so I think engine height is same, jack back some... looking at options...

my thing is to buy a boat with 3's and part the rest out, break even or make money... I am not going to go spend 25,000+ on Konrads that are barely stronger then my TRS, that's just me.. once I have 3's I know I can put 8-850 to them with miniml to no issues, many guys do..

just not a fan of the Konrads read too many storys about failures..

The ONLY way I will convert this boat is if I get the right doner boat to get ALL parts free... I am not going to "out of pocket" 20-25,000 more for drives, the TRS will stay before I do that, at that point I will part mine out and buy one with 3's there are many deals out there...
