and what scan tool would that be ? If you have twins ??? does the other engine have comminication with the same scan tool ?
If so that can be a DLC issue or the PCM itself.
If U do not have twins go scan someones else engine and see what happens ? It does not have to be a 525 any ECM 555 or PCM 555 would work to test your scan tool to make sure its not having the issue

Bup, I have the Rinda and Bluetooth vessel view. 1st gen 525s. One engine scans, other does not. No power to the scanner it seems. And now that engine has developed an off idle hesitation. Doesn’t seem as strong as other motor. Suggestions?

The switch was the one on the headers, where the Cable from the shifter connects to the cable going to the drive. Not sure what it is called, I assumed it was the neutral safety switch. It was reading that the boat was in neutral when it was actually in gear. Unplugged it, now reads in gear, no issues. Will replace it next week.

Check the little black enclosed fuse holders under the dash. I think they are 2 or 5 amp.

Sorry guys not trying to sound bad here but as I try to be spot on with all my posts and not trying to correct anyone - But have to add -- , The switch on the shift plate is THE SHIFT IN GEAR SWITCH. -- it is not the Neutral safety switch.
see the PCM is called that for reason. So who wants to guess why its called PCM instead of ECM here ?? Anyone ?
Anyways --- just added info -- The shift in gear switch IS NEEDED very much so as it reports to the PCM in gear or in Neutral . There is reasons why it is needed and I do not want to write a story book about it. . When it is bad the shift in gear switch and or unplug and or the connection bad --- in due time it will set GUARDIAN mode and even sometimes shut down.the engine when running on the water...
Had a feeling thats what everyone was talking about the shift in gear switch hence WHY I ASKED in my post way above..
