Any ideas of how to disable the thermostats in a Hardin oil cooler?

I’m pretty certain it’s C/type clip that holds it in right behind your hose fitting. Take it out. Don’t disable of any sort.

If I want to run the HP 500 thermostatic head, it would be best to force all the oil through the cooler. I wonder if the thermostat side of the cooler can be plugged.

I’ll probably just use the MPI head and just leave it. Lol

I couldn’t live with the restriction in the filter head. The fitting is 8AN but is a little larger than the inside diameter of a 8AN fitting. With that I decided to pick up this:

Fairly inexpensive. I cutoff the shelf on the bracket where the original filter head sat. The new head will be mounted on the upright/vertical surface.

This will give fill flow from the filter.
