Thats what i tought too Brad. Here is my old engine in the same graph, there you can see better where the torque starts to fall

Very respectable numbers. I saw in earlier posts you were looking to have 6000rpm rev limiter?

Expect to prop max rpm around 5800 ish?

Did you manage to test beyond 6k rpm to see where the power curve turns down?

Generally, longer exh duration maintains peak power curve and flattens it out. Good for marine looking to prop to that broad curve.

The Flotex 290s really worked out for you. Pardon if ypu mentioned it...but was the dyno sheet with the Stainless Marine exh manifolds on?

Did you have any BSFC #s to speak to your i take manifold mod benefits etc?

Thanks for sharing the build and results.

We did not pull past 6000rpm, it was still climing a lil at 6000rpm put not much. What i really regret is i did not add more timing, only 32 degrees in the best pull. The exhaust used in dyno was headers with stupidly large primary diameter, and mufflers. And yes i want to limit the engine to 6000rpm, I have just a roller rockers with arp studs, no gridle, the 2.3" intake valve is heavy.

What you guys think about my timing curve? This is the one we used in the best dyno pull. We did not test anything else. Just increased the max from 28dg to 32dg in 2dg steps. From 30 to 32 made 18hp more.

First testdrive done. Carefullly keeping eye for oil pressure, coolant temp, afr readings, etc. Engine felt powerfull but was way too rich, 10,7 all over the powerband below 5000rpm. Next day we started cutting some fuel, setting it to a 12,4 afr. Felt some missfiring or something now and then so i tought to remove the spark plugs and check what is going on, found that the cyl 6 spark plug thread was black all the way, not sure if it felt loose when removing it but there is nothing else that comes to my mind that could cause this, also there was half point difference in afr readings between cylinder bank 1 and 2. The plugs are ngk bkr6e.
