Default Lake Norman TRS rebuild?

I am just about to pull my drive off -- and want to get it rebuilt.

Can anyone recommend someone near the charlotte area?

on another note -- I also want to have my mercII tranny gone through and beefed up to handle 600hp -- is that doable -- and is there someone once again in the Charlotte area that can do that?

The project has finally begun!! I stripped the interior last nite and am working on the exterior -- will hopefully pull the motor and drive in the next week or two! (this is a 24 pantera)

thanks for any advice/help

Mark

Mark, I took my drive to the US Air Cargo Terminal and sent it to Doller Offshore in Ft lauderdale it was about 90 dollars shipping one way. I had it back in 5 days . Talk to mac at 1-800-376-1616. I have also talked to Bam marine at 954-321-0606 and I might let them do my next rebuild. Its just a matter of time when you have high horsepower /torque running through a Trs. Bam was talking about manufacturing an adapter to mount a lower bravo to a trs upper. I would let the people who do drives everyday do my drive and thats not anybody in charlotte, especially a trs drive. Harry

Default Rebuild

Guys, There is only one person that is near Charlotte that can or will ever get the chance to work on my boat , and his name is Michael Morgan and the name of his company is Marine Machine located in Cornelius. He is very good at almost anything to do with a boat, including rigging , outdrives, etc. He has done a lot of work for me in the past and comes highly recommended. His number is 704-742-5369 or 704-483-4514

mpejsa, I boxed my drive up using alot of Cardboard, Doller sends it back in a outdrive box. Motor freight might be cheaper if you are not in a hurry. Steet recomendations I would trust but there are not very mini trs drives in this area thats why I would send it to Florida where they repair them weekly. My hull is the same as yours and i just did a complete overall of my boat last year. Its a 1983 monza.

I’m not going to touch the out drive questions for obvious reasons, but as far as your tranny goes Tom Huber at Huber Marine is the only one I will work with his # is (615) 794-7583

The best solution to your trs and tranny is to sale it and go with a pulse drive system and then you can put the big horsepower with it. After a year, 600 hp its going to be enough. Trust me Harry 1-800-288-2469.; There is a guy on this forum that showed pictures of the retrofit using the pulse drive system .
