The Team (CMS / Castaway) will be offering an additional $10,000.00 in cash for the 1st Place winner of the 2005 Key West World Championship event held in Key West, November 13 – 20, 2005. Bob Stated “You never know what can happen in Key West, someone may get lucky again”.
“Bob and I just like to race and we enjoy the competition”, stated Mitch Miller the Driver of the CMS / Castaway race boat, “we would like to see everyone in our class start racing together again, I think this should clear up any issues the teams have regarding racing against us. We are both looking forward to seeing some more teams in Sarasota”.

dry sump,
they played thier cards when they told OSS to remove KW from thier schedule, then followed up with uim rule 104, told thier racer's if they cross over any race's they wont get television expousure. IMO it's going to take more than $10 K, and the 2005 dues to be paid for them to say sure were on the way, this is what happens when you play hardball.
thier are many other cities to choose from, thats what OSS did they moved on.

It's obvious you are trying very hard to support your Team. Your efforts are commendable but often misguided. A case in point is the problem you have with the incredibly generous offer made by CMS/Castaway. You are upset that they did not extend the offer to other classes and to 2006. It would be great if they would pay all fees for all classes for five years and possibly cure cancer while they are at it. Unfortunately that was not what they offered.
They are giving some people who own race boats a good reason to use them. I REALLY hope you of all people don't have a problem with that concept. The CMS/Castaways offer is almost exactly the same as the one made to our entire class via a conference call with Mr. Whittier, Ms. Motl, and Mr. Tomlinson in March. Pete I'm not sure what you do besides cheer-leading, but as someone who pays on many levels to race, anytime someone wants to make it easier it's a good thing. An unusual, rare, and very good thing. "Its funny but I must say OSS sounds just like the OLD APBA with Mike A ,race schedules changing, Rules changing to benefit certain teams, and OSS is run by the Racers sounds very similar to why OSS was formed in the first place no?"
Is SBI the same? New Races that 8 boats went to, new rules and guidelines, is opa joining UIM?I Thought the fans didn't care about superboats? Now that sbi has one scl and one sc, they what more sc/scl boats why?
I have friends at both organizations, and we all as racers agree the year event would be great, but they will not go with out there respective organizations, thus the problem.......I don't think either side will gain any boats due to year end race conflicts...we will all hope we could have truly earned a overall victory, not just a three dollar flag and five dollar trophy.

Are you speaking of SS?? if so, a few of the teams decided to try OSS
and they appear they like it, will there be more next year , we will have to wait and see. As for SCL, There is ONE (1), now tell me if it makes sense for all to drop what they are doing for one. and for the BIG SHOW it should be a lot more than 10K. But then what about 2006 fees??? which are also paid at the BIG SHOW!
and if you pay on many levels maybe you should buy a SC
then there will be two (2).
And as for what i do, Retired military, 22 years defending freedom. As for the levels of racing, i spend my money to attend, IE plane tickets , hotels, food, without fans willing to spend thier money you have nothing. And without more than one (1) boat a class, it certainly isnt going to draw in the fans either. SBI has a great SS class and SV class, so good luck, have fun and be safe.

Ditto!!!
The popcorn is gone.
The dishes are piling up.
This has been such a nail biter.
And I have to go get the sticky duct tape stuff off my fingers that kept me from posting.
But I have one question.
Where was the guy in Ontario who started all this and then bailed out?
Just wondering..........who has Canadian relatives that put him up to this?
