Randy, you hit it on the head , the cost are out of control and with the economy in such bad shape it is almost impossible to raise more money. Sponsors have tried and there is just no return on their investment its pretty simple. There isnt anymore tree's to shack it out of, and believe me it is not a money maker by any means i'm sure u know that.

OSS know better then anyone what it cost to put an event on, they were very luck to have some of there member help and do what they could for the cause. But the time comes when that comes to an end to you have to try and stand alone and its not easy.
SBI has had a set schedule for almost 10 yrs with very little change and they r even feeling the effect of the economy with the lost of 2 races this yr. That more races then they have cancelled in the last 4-5 combined.
OSS have felt it in Ft Myers , PickWick , Destin, Vegas, PR , Tom A race, St. Pete in the past, and so forth . Randy is right putting all political BS aside we have to make it work. I always here with out the clowns there is no circus...well let me tell you with no circus there arent any clowns. Something we all need to think about not as OSS , SBI , OPA, POPRA ,but AS RACERS.

I truly believe what ever the boat count in KW the lack of boat wont be because its in KW or that its an SBI race it will just be that the teams cant afford it as much as they would like to be there.I have never ever heard any team leaving the Worlds saying wow that sucked I hate KW... I know teams in all organization that r sitting on the beach this yr or racing half schedule for the same reason. Or even running P class because it is cheaper including myself. I'm not sure if there is a fix for that, I do know having teams who ever they are racing for free isnt the answer, matter of fact that might sink the ship quicker. I wish i had all the answer but i dont ... so all i can do is go with what is in place and hope it works.

Tony, the only problem with that is that some of the smaller events do not get the support of all the teams. If it is an OPA or OSS etc site, all the teams of that organization should attend and support that site. If not they wont be around next year. Even at a great site like St Clair, fans and store owners wanted to know where some of the big teams were. Bud Lite and Popeye were two I was asked about.

Personally KW is too big of a commitment for me in both time and money. I would like to see a united "Worlds" that travels between sites and organizations. It should have backing of all involved. With 100 boats you have a ton of costs and it would need significant sponsorship.

Randy....Ron was asking why John would not make concestions to get everyone together....and he said no...so if Ron thinks we should all race together...then step up and make it convenent for everyone.....no fee's...

I still have not heard of any complaints from OSS other then we do not want John to get our money....

You are a OSS member....and OSS members decide on there own to come to the Worlds...

So you tell us....forget about OSS....

What would it take for the OSS SVL teams to come to K.W.

I also like it how you guys call OSS a National Curuit but every other org a regonal....

OPA:
Long Islands, NY
2 races in Mich,
N.J
2 IN MD
Tenn

SBI
N.Y
N.C
Pan. city which is over 600 miles from Miami...
Sarisota which is over 250 miles from Miami..
Miami

OSS.
Now show me your national curcuit

Ron I still have not heard how it would not be financailly benifit our sport if you did not put on your worlds and took the money and time and save your time and put your money into SBI/APBA's worlds and have one race...
That make the most and easies cents....

Will someone from OSS tell us on here...why every org...OPA, SBI/APBA and the Super Cat Series and even some OSS racers thinks this works and support it but becasue 13 or so racers don't like it we should change it...

If you put the racers that do attend the worlds its...

75 + that go to SBI/APBA to race the worlds from every Orgs
12 or so that don't agree in one org
were is the problem here and who do you think should change there ways...

LISTEN...No one on here is picking on just OSS...you are hearing from racers and pres. of other Orgs why it benifits there org adn Offshore....how can so many racers and orgs be wrong and 12 or so racers from one org be right....we see what your saying and we all agree....but again the way its run today is no differant then 15 years ago...and we accept it and we particapate in it for our sport....

WE WILL NEVER SEE EYE TO EYE...WE ALL NO THAT....so make a concesion you keep giving John and make your own....come to Key West...I still feel you guys think you are specail or there is no show without your Org, why is it you feel you should get demands met for you to show....you have the same invitations that everyone in the world has....if not....in all due repect...keep having your own worlds and make it the best worlds you can....if its great racers will come...you have had 5 years to build your org....you like what you have there....great so keep it...no one here has told you to fold....but if you want to race with everyone else...come to Key West....

Guys come on....enough...this is so simple....

Ron...if you really want to better the sport....you are the Pres of OSS....you guys have an opertunity to join us all in one World Championship like we all said we want....

Smitty...I know...I have raced all orgs and looked at there race sites....they all travel far and long...maybe some should start by not calling there org a National Series then complaining about changing the World title to something less....see ya in Patch.

Being new I am still confused on a few things.

If I race p-4 with opa and than raced the worlds and won would I be a OPA world champion, SBI or both? If I raced opa and than raced the kw worlds do I have to pay SBI reg fees and entry fee to race the worlds, or since I would have paid opa fees would I just have to pay entry fees. What is the prize money?

If you go to Key West you have to pay SBI. The entry fee, the boat yearly registration fee, and crew fees.

Aqua.....
Opa dose not have a worlds...a lot of us go to race in Key West for the SBI/APBA/UIM World Championships.
For P-Class I will have to look and see what the payout was last year or maybe Frank can tell us on here...
Your fee's for the Worlds cover the worlds and all of the 2009 season for SBI/APBA...so if you did a race next year in SBI/APBA othere then the worlds you would just pay there entry fee $600 to race and you quilifie for there prise money...
