next have you ever talked to CC perf or sterling about adding cubic inches to the engine spec via using a bigger stroke crank. i'm not sure of what changes would need to be done to the rest of the motor but getting 540 or 565 out of what the "510" already has shouldn't be that big of a step.
it might be more benefitial for "supercat" racing to move towards C1 than slowing up the 850's and class 1 guys. with C1 coming to south america and possible the bahamas they seem to making head way towards the US. next from what the Qatar crew was talking about the orgs or race promoters pay the racers or their travel expenses which atleast offset's some of the costs. but there should be some focus looking towards the future inwhich the US supercats could run with wppa class 1 so crossover racing could occur such as keywest. look at the unlimited's going to qatar for their finals as an example of the appeal of boat racing abroad.
one can see your cost containment issues with trying to run with Class 1 but everyone might have to give alittle to bring all 3 classes together
class one maybe adds weight
850 add the restrictors
750 add some cu inches to offset the torque of the above 2
imagine a 15-20 boat count for supercat or class 1

Under the original Super Cat class rules...which also combined three classes:Super,Open and Modified;there were usually 12-15 boats, with a high of 17 in 2000!The racing was exciting and competitive throughout the entire field.Lets hope it gets back to that.More ocean racing would also help level the playing field.

Class 1 killed the v8 with low compression. When they had 14 to 1 they were competative. The Lambo cannot make any more compression than 12 to 1 so it did not effect them. EFI or Dual Carbs would help...

I feel pretty confident in all you fellas and that if the positive diolouge continues your all sharp enough to find us atleast somewhere to start at regarding HP and motors. another thing to think about although I think I'm just gonna have to eat crow ( which I'm a big boy and can handle so you will never hear me cry about it ) is that in any big water races the class 1 boats make some of us look like mini me so ther is a pretty big advantage.

Dave we will run all together,its the 750's with the disadvantage.And all us are very willing to work it out. Theres some great ideas.Pat keep your thinkin cap on you know I'll be calling you.THink $$$$$ the first year to get it started.Yes I have talked to Chuck the cube increase is probabaly the easiest.Only if we have some long term comittment.We dont want to drastically change in 5 months to first race. We saw what happened before. Still have to find out who all is in-positively!!!
MARITIMO it would be great to have you, by the end of the week we will have a forum for this on SUPERCATRACING.com
We would most certainly like to have your input. Your team is a class act and very competitive.

Great dialogue guys we need to figure something out with only 3 850 boats and all running different venues we have no desire to race unless we know there will be some competition. Maybe some cat lites as well.

suggestions here because I really think FANS want to see a big show and they deserve it. OSO has always been the "home" of the offshore fan.We would like to keep them informed as well.
