INSINUATE (in'sinyoo`eyt)
"1. To introduce gently or slowly, as by a winding or narrow passage, or a gentle, persistent movement."
Sounds sexy. I'd love it to be true.
"2. To introduce artfully; to infuse gently; to instill."
I don't know. The first two definitely don't apply.
"3. To hint; to suggest by remote allusion; -- often used
derogatorily; as, did you mean to insinuate anything?"
Probably pretty close.
"4. To push or work (one's self), as into favor; to introduce by slow, gentle, or artful means; to ingratiate."
He could not have meant it that way.

Notice their thread "OSS Announces Founding Board of Directors?"
Not a single reply.

fred, peconic has had just as many posts deleted as anyone else. even outer42. this forum needs more moderation because we have more people not following the rules. when i try to let things go for a while, i get a bunch of PM's complaining about threads. when i take action, i get criticized. follow the rules and there would never be a need for moderators. it's a thankless job. fred, you're welcome to step up and take the mod spot. it's all yours. i need the hassle like a hole in my head.

It seems Peconic is pretty well free to post or say what he wants. But heaven forbid Phantom posts some facts.

if peconic starts a thread that does not apply it's gets deleted just like any one else's would.
he is one of the few who does not complain about being edited. every now and then i will get an apology from someone who knew their post violated the rules. there are a few stand up people out there.

Wow, this is going to be a long tough winter. The off season is always hard but with all the uncertainty, this one will be worst.
I find reading my post again before hitting send usually helps to keep things on a more even keel.

Phantom, honestly. When you posted that whois scoop, I thought you made a joke. I answered with a joke. Dredge didn't think the jokes were funny, so he deleted them. That is his right and his job. It's a thankless and moneyless job, and we should be grateful to people like Dredge. Without them, all fora would go up in flames.
Since you are adamant about your scoop (and I am not referring to the pooper-scooper,) here some gratis domain registration 101:
For many, many, many years, all US domains were registered through one and the same registrar: Network Solutions, aka Internic. IBM.com, Microsoft.com, Apple.com, all and gadzillions of others have the same registrar: Internic. If you think IBM, Microsoft, Apple, and countless others are somehow tied together through some dark complot, as evidenced by their common registrar - - you are putting me on, right, Phantom? You are just making me write this, right?
A few years ago, the monopoly of Network Solutions (now there's fodder for a conspiracy..) was broken. Now, dotcom domains are registered through these registrars: http://www.verisign.com/nds/naming/r.../custalph.html
You are welcome. No charge. If you want, donate $10 (it ain't worth more) to a charity of your choosing.
BTW: I did not register wetpits.com through the company you mentioned. The whois query just made you believe it was so. This is one of the finer details of domain registrations, which we will cover in-depth in a future seminar. I doubt it will draw too many people. Now: Back to racing!

Milling used to be a funny, lighthearted forum, full of people who could make and take jokes. We still remember the legendary smack talk wars between BJ and Randy. They duked it out with gusto. They put on their act in Milling, and laughed about it at the bar. It was the height of Milling, professional wrestling on the Internet. The two were the greatest friends, still are.
Milling used to be a forum where Ray was bored all day, and where "censorship" (a nasty word for nasty business) was never used.
Milling was then ravaged by the unholy wars and crusades. No more play-acting. They crusaders really meant it. Vicious, personal attacks. Holy wars and crusades can and do kill a forum and many friendships. I have been at this forum stuff since before the Internet (remember The Source? Compuserve?) and I have seen crusades that turned into real physical violence.
We can take it back. Or we can take it down. Our choice.

if anyone thinks i'm biased, then you're wrong. ( on a personal note: i'd really like to see unification of all the organizations. i asked santa, but i wasn't good enough this year.)
i'm GDI = GOD DAMNED INDEPENDENT
the only assocation i play with is the one with the best schedule for me. who is it for 2004? don't know yet.
hint: the Dredgeking likes gulf coast races (if santa is still listening)
