We dock at CP and have gone up your way a few times. I would say 3+ would be a good estimate with time allowed for stopping or questionable water.

CP guest docks are now located in the south Basin the docks are fine but it's a long walk to the bathrooms. I dock on Pier 8 so you have to walk by us, look for a 38PQ on a Hydrohoist.

Thanks everybody. Ms Patriyacht thanks for the good input. I too am very glad I went with the 38'. We live in Brighton, so it is a hike to get to Sassy's, so we stay all weekend in the same slips you mentioned. I will definitely have a trailer by next spring. Still trying to coordinate a good time to do this.

When you get a trailer, you will probably be closer to Lake Erie, A good place to launch is Erie Metro Park So becoming a member of LEOPA will be a must

Awsome trip, we did it a couple of ways launched in Port Huron run done to Monroe for a fill up 60 gallon single 496 HO running 45 - 60 most of the way. don't recall how long it took to get there ruff est 45-60 min port huron to st clair 60 min plus to the end of the detroit river. lake was great for trip there. Return on the other hand got ugly with waves/chop averaging 3-6 foot tabs down all the way from PIB to Monroe and up to the river second fill up 40 gallon at Monroe. total return trip 12 hours 3 stops gas, Detroit river and gull each for about an hour. 20 mph across erie and st clair. got to love a good strong sout wind. forecast said waves 2 foot or less, I think they met 2 foot or more. PIB to Cedar point is like 10 miles.
