Ran into a little snag. Time wasn't on my side for the Inn run. Maybe next time!:drink:

Jdub, were you able to fix the leaking into the back seat? When i was looking at that boat, Holden had it sitting there with a real bad cover. I remember the seat being completly soaked through, almost too heavy to lift. Have you consider or gotten a cockpit cover??

jdub 05-03-2010 06:50 PM

Fixed the leak? Yeah I keep it stored inside :drink: Holden just had one of those one-size-fits-all covers. I don't want to put the snaps all over the boat for a cockpit cover. It looks to sleek to do that to it. Jay if that back seat was ever to heavy for you to lift you better get your a$$ in the gym!

That **** was heavy! Plus, Im a college boy.....we don't use gyms. We carry kegs. Ill bring some of our home brew beer to the run. It's really good.... made it from scratch, it's an IPA.

............but Donroc would still kick my ass

IPA...thats a little much for me. I have a buddy who insists we drink some at every Eagles tailgate party...it never ends good :angry-smiley-038:

Oh.....and you better start carrying full kegs!

DonRoc 05-03-2010 10:09 PM

Your boat is looking good, I had custom cockpit covers made for mine and Mike's Krypto. I put snaps in place of a few windshield screws, and under the rub rail in the rub rail facing down, then under the swim platform some bunge hooks and sewed buggie loops in the cover, it looks great works and the only snaps you see are the few in the windshield. i will see if i can find picture.

I would be interested in that Don. Sounds like you did a good job of hiding the snaps. Pics would be great.

Agreed with the cockpit cover. I met up with P&G Canvas last weekend and that's exactly what we decided. There's enough fiberglass under the rub-rail to hold the screw for the cover and you'll only sacrifice 4-6 snaps on the deck. Don, what material did you use? I decided on sunbrella supreme. It was only an extra $120.

jdub 05-03-2010 10:19 PM

Yeah if I only had to put some snaps across the front of the fairing that would be fine. I just didn't want to put them down the sides.

Thats what I used on Mikes boat.
The nice deal is the snap from the windshield came straight down to nder the rub rail an made a nice vent scoop, I also added netting (vent) across the back to get the air out. I dont have any pictures, I just droped off the boat @ perf marine yesterday they will need to dial in the accel DFI in the boat. maybe Johnny can snap a few pics for us???

Well except for a small punch list she's about ready. Finished up the rigging and cuddy today. Here are a few pics of the cuddy entrance and bumper holders.

Are you going to put any handles for the passengers (front and back). If so, keep me updated. I'll have to do something similar.

cjcs 05-16-2010 06:50 PM

if this is just about done, when is it going to be for sale?? ha hahahah

I just put handles on mine. Both sides of the rear and on the back of both front seats. It was a HUGE pain in the ass to put the rear handles on. the top bolts are in the cable run area and were almost impossible to reach, especially on the stbd side (which has all the rigging in it). I had to get the girlfriend out there to reach in there with her small hands.

I will post up some pics at some point.

jdub 05-16-2010 09:07 PM

I have handles for the co-pilot and the backseat passengers. I'll get you some pics also. I think I'm going to put a grab handle in front of the front seat also. I figure it could double for a step to get up on the deck.

Engine compartment looks good. I like the k-plane pump location, that's about how I plan on mounting mine.

Thanks but I can't take credit for the pumps. The previous owner mounted them. He made up plates and used the thru hull hydraulic steering studs to mount them. He then drilled and tapped the plates to mount the pump mounts. It's a nice set up.

Holden's a great mechanic. He did a great job on the rigging. He built that thing for pure speed and rough water handling. Jdub, your boat handles better in the rough than other kryptonites. That shaved pad really makes a difference.:hitit:

Philm 05-26-2010 09:59 AM

Hey John, thanks for the ride yesterday. Hopefully we can get that oil temp issue figured out. I do think that the 80psi bypass is causing the oil to bypass the cooler. The more I think about it the more that makes sense, because once the temps were up and the pressures down, we cruised around at a reasonable temp, and it didnt climb like it did initially. Once it goes through the bypass, the temps will just climb and wont stop climbing until you stop.

The motor sure ran strong though, that thing is pretty quick. I dont doubt Rudy's guess of 600hp at all.

jdub 05-26-2010 09:10 PM

Took her out again tonight with a heat gun in hand. I ran it up until the oil temp was reading 240*. It only took a few minutes for it to climb. I jumped in the engine compartment with the gun and shot the oil pan, oil filter and the oil temp sender. All read around 180*. I also shot the feed and return lines from the oil cooler and there was a 40* difference. So now I'm thinking my old sender from my motor does not match up with the new Auto-Meter gauge. I'll make some calls tomorrow and see if they can ship some out to me before the weekend.

Aside from that the GPS is not working so I'm assuming the battery is shot in the antenna. So I don't have any numbers to report. But I can say she pulls hard and handles great. Flies nice and level and lands soft. Fun as hell to drive :evilb:

DiamondPerformance 05-27-2010 07:05 AM

John, Auto-Meter senders are different from Livorsi/Merc and will read different.

Damn that is good news for sure. I was getting worried for you. Good stuff to hear. You also said that alarm was going off again? I couldnt hear half of your voicemail, you musta lost service.

Time for some new temp senders I guess.:coolcowboy:

Jdub,
I just the boat back today. The cockpit cover looks AWESOME. P&G did an amazing job, truly. Only 6 snaps across the front. All of the side snaps and transom snaps were put in under the rub rail. Not one drill mark in the fiberglass and you cant see them with the cover off. Here's a pic. Notice every raised edge on the boat is protected (windshield, cleats, seats, etc)

Philm 05-29-2010 07:48 AM

Wow, they did a great job. Looks fantastic.
