Hey how are you doing, nace to hear from you.

When i got the boat it had 19's on it and still dose for prop size

Im going to look into 23's for it soon

My glenndeny synch system is were i can hit a switch and my left throttle will go all the way down and i can run both moters for the right handle at any speed weather full out or running in the marina. I had the box taken off and un hooked as it was not allowing the slave moter to run wide open... Did a tune up and new fuel filters to see if that would help. had the carbs set up but now he has called me after doing the timing and says that one carb is not letting enough fuel in so looks like im looking a new carbs after this weekend as im going to see how she runs first as im not made of money like some of these guys with brand new Cigs and MTI's worth big bucks on this site. boat should do 62 64mph (right)

Hey do you have any pic's of the boat when you had it as i would love to see them and what rpms did you top out at if you remember

I dont think wolf used the boat that much in the 7 or 8 years that he had it and it had just sat under cover in his well most of the time
Hope to see you in june in lake st clair,

Yes, but which boat will garner more attention at the dock?

hey len,
you may be able to keep the carbs, see if your mechanic can install larger valves or throws (i forget the technical term, im sure someone on here will know) literally like a 2 dollar part. i had some put on mine and it helped deliver more fuel and got rid of some hesitation.
I'd try that first, if that does not solve the problem you may have to get some new carbs with double pumpers as im pretty sure you have single pump right now, that should solve the problem and could possibly squeeze another mph or two out of her.

I think it is kind of odd that a mechanic would be asking a customer where to set timing on a small block.....

On the road $3.89 reg, at the marinas on the Salt River $4.60 per gallon ! That would make your gas costing around $4.92 US gallon ?

Len,
Definately switch to the 23 Mirages. In the spring with cold water I could turn 5400-5500 and get mid 60's all day long.
Hot weather maybe 5000-5200.. 62 mph. That was with fresh motors and a painted bottom. The Mirages settled the boat down quite a bit better than the 3 bladed cleavers that came with it. I would also have to really trim it out to the edge to get max mph.
I got pix's but I thought you were selling?? Didn't want to send if you getting rid of boat.
I got a set of 23's on my Fountain.. If your up in June we'll go to the shallows and switch for a test run..
The advance was just like Mark said 34-36 degrees.
i think your under propped and not getting the max out of that boat.
