Hi, I was new to boating in the late 80's,but it looks the same and i think the engines/drives were factory stock type. Any Idea how many maltese were made ? mine is a 1974 Hull number 33 . Did they number the hulls in order no matter what deck went on it ?

This was the donor boat for the drives & engine parts. These pic's look like they were shot last fall so she should be done this spring. Here is one pic when I had her, and now with the new look.

The sports were numbered separately I would think ? Bud [mr vinyl] should have the Maltese numbers, from what I remember she looked great in blue.

Default Maltese numbers #33

According to the list from Magnum # 33 was made for Apeco Marina/ Miami which was the in house distributer and was invoiced on 10/21/74.Sorry my list does not have its color nor engines listed. Also the invoice date might be the date the keel was laid...check you numbers. Bud

How this for early exhaust systems, the year around 1973. Before there was CMI or many others that were water jacketed. The guy's took there hatches off and ran there pipes dry. The white zoomes were on a IMP, and the other set were on the SUPER SCREW Magnum of Frank Szykula. Talk about OLD SCHOOL !!!

They put the newer merc exhaust in it . Mercury had a 320 Tempest motor back then that we pretty much duplicated for mag. It was a little snappier than the 280 pkg at the time.
He said call him if you have any questions. 586 725-BOAT.
I found some pix's that i'll make copies a soon as i get some time.

Hey guys need your help (PLEASE)

The shop that is tuneing up the magnum has asked me what the timming is to be set at as its not stock??????

This is the last thing he has to do so that i can go in the water on saterday

My problem with my lose in speed was the gendenny engine sink, that had no place on my boat anyway and has been taken off today.
he's done a complete tune up and replace itams like wires, coil, caps, fuel fiilters and did my carbs . EX EX EX but he is asking me what my timming is to be set at as its most likely out

Beakman who owned my boat before and had the motors taken out and redone has done a few things listed above

Anybody have an idea what i can tell him to set the timming at that will work best.

Len tell your mechanic to total time your engine to 36 degrees, If he dose not know how then you need to find a better guy. Did you ever call North Bay like Rich said ??? Your balancer is most likely degreed for this type of timing.
