Great video btw, but I don't think I want a go pro in my engine bay. If something goes I don't want to see it
They do, but I believe they are still generating over 2 "G's" at the hit. 60 foot times under a second.

Every 30 runs is the normal time frame.

Most high strength joints are not drilled any more some have grease fittings in the caps (4) others are lifetime greased, and you can only add grease by pulling the caps. I haven't used greasable ujoints in off road stuff for a long time. also a grease needle can be used in a pinch, but for the most part its a non issue.

high impact u joints in offroading have gone away from using rollers in the caps instead they use a solid steel cross and a chromoly cap with a bronze liner. that works great for low speed but not high speed

excellent video

The ones I use are solid crosses and roller bearings, pre greased, CTM's are nice but like you said no good for high speed.

2gs, your up to 5700 lbs against the 13500 of Miss G at 1 g

Don't get offended, I think they put it up here to be discussed. I still think endurance racing is hard to compare to drag racing however.

Also, there is a chance they do have an adequate drive shaft that may have had a one time undetectable manufacturing flaw, that may not be an issue in the future.

I commend you for offering advice, most of us here wouldn't even think about making suggestions to a team with that much experience and so many trophies

NASCAR uses layers of ballistic kevlar to create a protective mat that's laid in the underside of the trans tunnel to protect from clutch & bellhousing explosions. The driveshafts are contained in a steel 2pc tube (.090 approx) similar to boats & the top half is an integral part of the floor pan & chassis w/ several 2" driveshaft straps or loops throughout. The tubes I've seen installed in boats are flimsily supported on each end but basically suspended in air w/ the driveshaft passing through the middle.

Great video & improvement opportunity

Does the shaft have a slip and stub ?
I have seen first hand the same kind of failure from the spline not being clocked right
