I had Volvo GXi's sweet running motors. If I was to buy another cruiser new I would buy it with the New Volvo Synthetic drives, NO zinec to worry about and the boats plane faster and run on plane at lower rpms with the new Volvo drives I was told

I have a little boat I need to have rigged still and buy a motor for, probably a 50HP

not sure what I'll buy next
I have a low hour Merc Classic 50 4cyl 45hp with power trim. 135psi compression in all the holes. How much you looking to spend? It'll keep me from having to list it on Ebay. The new motor comes home on 7/7.

Yea, bet that Chaparral out runs the Pumpkin slow poke condo any day of the week

BTW, Chaparral was my second boat, kept it exactly 4 months. 235XLC with a big block in it, bought it new on Memorial day traded it in on my 28 Baja on Labor day. Man did that boat beat the snot out of you.

This is what I need the motor for

I was told Professional Marine down in Brick might be able to rig it for me. Anyone here ever use them?

I don't think they allow you to do your own work. My boat doesn't need any work at this time but I would like to do some of my own maintenance IE. change the oil etc... How the he@@ am I going to learn anything? It's also a 45 minute ride to the Ocean.
Last year I had them change the drive fluid and some other work $$$$ they wanted to charge me separate to pull the boat out and then put it back in the water (and after working on my drive, I couldnt put it into reverse or neutral).

I wish there was such a thing as a yacht club for powerboats. A pool, some cabanas, food, drink and a health club etc..
I called Channel Marina because a friend with a Searay said it was nice, they don't have in and out and don't allow that lift set-up like Panther has.
It's been difficult launching and now with the new baby it's even harder. I'll probably go to South Jersey where my brother-in law keeps his boat. The Marina agreed to set me up just the way I want to be. I'll be able to go out whenever I want and dont have to rely on a second person to guard the boat at the ramp.

I need to do more boating and partying and less worrying about how to get the boat in the water.
Want some cheese with that wine?
