I guess will see whos out in the Ocean this weekend. Are you coming North this weekend...it's only a 65 mile Ocean run in some Apache water!! If you do bring a camera I need some 2009 big air shots.
Its either Trumps or the Island for me depending on Bill's weather for either.

I don't want to convince you otherwise but the winds are supposed to be light and those seas are going to be a long-period swell, nothing that will beat you up unless you choose to jump them. For instance, last year for the Pt. Pleasant race we had a tropical storm move thru the day before. Heading down the swells were 6-8's but we didn't come out of the water once.

Besides, the run from VZ bridge to Sandy Hook you'll hit some swell mid-way across but it's half the size it would be out in the ocean because roamer shoals breaks the waves up.

If we had strong winds forecast by all means I would suggest staying home but I wouldn't be concerned of the swell coming across the bay.

It's all good whatever you decide and I totally understand!

I just got my go-pro camera so I might take a ride out and play in the swells Saturday morning.

Updated forecast;
SAT...S WINDS AROUND 10 KT. SEAS 5 TO 8 FT. A CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND TSTMS. VSBY 1 TO 3 NM. .SAT NIGHT...E WINDS 5 TO 10 KT...BECOMING NE AFTER MIDNIGHT. SEAS 5 TO 8 FT...BUILDING TO 7 TO 10 FT AFTER MIDNIGHT. A CHANCE OF TSTMS IN THE EVENING. A CHANCE OF SHOWERS. .SUN...NW WINDS 10 TO 15 KT. SEAS 9 TO 12 FT...SUBSIDING TO 4 TO 7 FT.

Sorry Frank I just would not feel comfortable taking the family out into what could become a bad situation, if it was with the guys from last weekend I would probably brave it out, we will have to shoot for another weekend to get together. Believe me I am big time disappointed when I don't get to make a trip on the boat.
