Thank you!!! Had my impact vest and lanyard on, called the wife to let her know where I'd be, when I was leaving, and let her know I would be out for an hour or so and called her when I got back to the river.

Weather permitting it looks like we're supposed to head to the Island this weekend with the baby, another couple and two of their kids.

JB, keep an eye on the forecast... As of this morning they're talking about what could be "Daniel" heading up the coast by this weekend.

ATLANTIC

The combination of a broad surface trough, tropical wave and an upper-level low are producing widespread showers and thunderstorms around 300 miles northeast of Puerto Rico.

A tropical cyclone may form from this complex system over the next day or so with upper-level winds forecast to become more favorable. The Hurricane Hunters are scheduled to investigate this afternoon to determine whether an area of low pressure has formed by that time.

Currently, the area of interest is moving off to the west-northwest around 20 mph. This west-northwest motion is expected to continue with a more northerly turn farther out in time.

Interests in the Turks and Caicos, Bahamas and along the U.S. East Coast should monitor this system closely to see what, if any, impacts it will bring later this week.

You bet your azz!!!

They just put out an update. So now the next question is, will I do a fire drill and get the boat on the trailer and bring it home or leave it up in the rack should this thing turn into something...

"A disturbed area we've been monitoring the last few days appears to have become better organized overnight. Satellite data is revealing a developing low-level circulation around 470 mile east of Nassau, Bahamas.

An aircraft from NOAA will be investigating to determine whether a tropical depression or storm has formed. If the system becomes a tropical storm the name would be Danny.

Currently, the area of interest is moving off to the west-northwest around 15 mph. This west-northwest motion is expected to continue with a more northerly turn farther out in time.

Residents in the Bahamas and along the U.S. East Coast should monitor this system closely to see what, if any, impacts it will bring later this week.

Any impacts on the U.S. East Coast would be Friday into Saturday."
