ok, i seen you put your arms up, you should have followed me, sand bar was packed, lots of bikinis, boats, they had a dj with music, i anchored underneath the 295 bridges in the shade so it was nice and cool and no traffic. went up to trenton thunder fireworks, they were ten times better than phillys, great show.

Well it finally happened! One of those accidents waiting to happen, "Ride the Ducks on the Delaware River was run over by a tug pushing a barge up river. Seems like the duck had a small fire on board and lost what little power it had when it stalled and was adrift in the channel. The barge was close and never seen him, running right over it and putting 37 people into the water. None of them wear life jackets while under way and they are stored overhead in the canopy. A few people seen it coming and jumped out of the duck but most wher it it when it got plowed under. Ammazingly after most all of them popped up and grabbed some floating jackets all where rescued from the water except for 2 that are missing. People on Penns Landing where throwing anything that would float into the water and rescue boats where on scene in 4 minutes including Coast Guard, Philly Police Marine, Philly Fire and Camden Fire. Not sure if I'm glad or sad I am not working today. Sad because some where lost. I always like the action. My condolances to the families of the 2 that where lost. They will be found. Another reminder that that river ain't no joke. Deep channel and fast running tides, very few I have seen over the years make it out to talk about it. Today was a banner day and 35 where given back.

cool bruce, looks like saturday is too sketchy weatherwise anyway. probably be heading to the river again this weekend on sunday. bill, tell all the boys down there thanks for doing what they do. pulling 35 people out is no easy task im sure, especially all at once. that river is very dangerous if you don't know it especially with the tidal currents. anyone on here thats never been out on it please ask one of us to show you the ins and outs. we don't need to lose any more if possible.. be safe.. mark

Thanks to all, Fireboat Independence pulled the missing girls body from the water about 6am this morning and the missing boys body was found when they disturbed the duck preparing it to be lifted from the bottom. He must have been trapped in the duck. This could have been so much worse. They just dropped the duck on our pier from the barge crane. Doesn't look bad at all. Those people had a fight on their hands getting out of that thing. Ammazing more lives wern't lost.
