weather is not looking good for this weekend. hopefully the storms will hold out saturday but it is gonna be nasty on sunday. if the storm makes it to the bottom of the bay it might push some ruff water up north. should be interesting.

if water is really ruff i am probably gonna go to jellies too. figure it out when were out there... they have two stops before red eyes. then lunch and bikini contest there for a couple of hours. then i think they stop at jellies on the way back for the last card stop. then its back to the nauti for the rest of the party is back at the goose i think. gonna see if i can find out any more.

First and Earthquake, now a Hurricane - man of man - do we ever know how to Rock The Bay?

With the forecast deteriorating for this coming weekend we've decided to reschedule Rock The Bay until September 10, 2011 - the weekend after Labor Day.

We felt it was possible to probably pull the run off this coming Saturday, but with the probability of rain increasing every day and the spectre of people having to tow their boats home in a driving rain & very windy conditions all contributed to the decision to reschedule the event. We want everyone safe!

I am sure we'll all want to batten down the hatches this weekend and prepare for whatever mother nature has in store for us.

We will see you on the 10th of September.

It's actually changed to the 9th and 10th for the guys making the run Friday and Saturday.

I'm still going down on Saturday morning. Call me an optomist I guess. I'll make the 10th too. Will Jelly's still be open after Labor Day weekend? I'm not sure when they close down. I can't believe it's the end of the season already.

were gonna try to make it down on the 10th. think im gonna just do the river this weekend maybe go to the sandbar at bordentown. last labor day week end jellies was closed down because of a storm and then they opened sunday and monday when the storm was chear and then closed monday night for the season. if i go down i will be heading to red eyes.

sorry, jellies will probably be closed this weekend. everyone that was going don't wanna go just for a boat ride, they wanted to go for the party and the boats. i didn't really matter to me since i took off 2 hours from work. i cant stay the whole 8 now so i wish i had a reason for loosing 2 hours of pay just don't want to go down and have no where to go cause jellies closed because of the storm. might go to rock lobster for some drinks or something.

Well, we're going down and take a look see. It might not be too bad on Saturday. Why would jellys be closed anyway? I'm sure there are locals who will be out and they usually don't wrap it up until Labor Day weekend so there will probly be some boats to watch come in and out. thats what I do anyway. Anything beats another ride up and down the Delaware. If it's too crappy out there then we'll come in get washed up and hit Woodys or the Goose for diner. Your welcome to use the room to clean up afterwards if you need to.. Let me know for sure one way or the other, it can be last minute. I just don't want to wait for you if you ain't comin.

they wont open jellies if a storm is going on or coming. there is a bar in the marina that will be open. if i talk my friends into it i will let you know but they were all looking forward to watching the run and the parties. im gonna try and find out if they will be opening jellies on saturday. if so maybe i can talk them into going. they have the mini bumperbash going on at jellies that we mightg try to make. its live music with lots of boats and a good party

jellyfish joel's will be open on the 10th. they are having the mini bumper bash then. so it will be packed. i should know in a little bit if jellies will be open

OK, we're out on this weekend. Seems like the whole east coast is in a panic. Even thouogh I think we could have had Sat, there's no place to go, everything is closed up. Canceled the reservations and booked 2 rooms for the 9th & 10th instead. We'll make it a 3 day wekend to close out the season I guess.

Trying to close a deal on a set of ASD#7 conversions so next season should be interesting.

kind of figured you were gonna rethink going down. even if i wanted to go i got forced to work saturday night so i wasn't going. i might try to make it a 2 day trip for the 10th if possible.

september 18th is the Sandbar Party at bordentown. the marina throws it every year. usually a good turn out. they float a dock with grill and coolers out and music. i ususally park under the bridges so i have shade plus its 2 to 3 ft of water so you can anchor and walk through the water to the sand bar. no beaching.

18th sounds like something to do. Your still in for the 10th? If your gonna stay over, I would make the reservations now, you can always cancel them even up to the day of check in.

im trying to get in touch with everyone now, i want to go down saturday morning and come back sunday night. if everyone says yes gonna call and get a room or two. i am definetly going for the 10th weather permitting. i know i have one friend will definetly go. the sandbar party is fun, plus its something close.

The river is a mess today. Loads of trees and trash. We had to recover a body this morning, sad that nobody seemed to miss this guy.

We got a king suite for $120. per night

reason i was asking is if i get reservations now it is 150 a night. if i lock in the room its 128 a night but cant cancel. if i cancel i still pay for the room. might stay on the boat in charleston.

i ended up booking at the comfort inn. 90 bucks for a night, half a mile farther down the road and you can cancel the day of. trying to keep the costs down as much as possible since i think only one friend is going to come down.

Rooms are still available at the Holiday Inn Exp. Not many though. Only smoking rooms available. I could add another room onto my reservation. We're kinda regulars and I get the government rate. Can cancel up to 6pm the day of check in with no charge. Mute point though since you got a room. Do they have room for parking the rig? Which night/s are you staying? We're going down on Friday morning the 9th. and staying until Sunday.

looks like they have a good size parking lot, hopefully there is enough room. im guessing because you are govenment they allow you to cancel the day of. im going down saturday morning and coming back sunday night.

Good, we'll be able to get Saturday and Sunday in. I don't think Gov. rate makes a diff, it's the policy stated on their site but there are several ways to pay and each has diff rules. I am a priority member though so maybe? Looks like we have another Hurricane coming right on time to screw us again!

Been to mayslanding , very narrow , like boating in bathtub , been to Chesapeake , hands down maybe best in USA , The Delaware river is a ton of fun , many , many fat boats , many raft-ups and yes time to time some crap in water . If you said boat only down shore I would sell my Skater and Formula and get a new hobby !!! Really !!!

Rock the Bay Run out of North East, MD. Was to be on Aug 26&27 but was rescheduled to Sept 9&10 due to Irene. We're heading down on Friday and Demag is coming on Sat. Not running in the Poker run but just tagging along. Probly hit Jellys and Redeyes.

Anyone else thinking of going?

I just talked to the Coast Guard Control center here in the building where I work. They said from what it looks like now, that this next storm will not make it to any shore in the US and stay over 200 miles offshore not affecting the Chesapeke Bay. Good to hear, I hope their right.
