How's the deleware looking after all the rain we had yesterday?
Some times after a hard rain it looks like you could walk across it with all the $hit in the water.
yeah I know.. was hoping to try to get out there sometime sun.
i just went out of croydon up to bordentown and back, wasn't that much crap floating, was a couple of trees floating but that was pretty much it, not sure how south of croydon is.

Stay out of the Delaware come down to Shady River in Mayslanding.
was there last weekend
Baja 555: I'm heading to the Delaware today. First time above C&D canal. Launching in Essington Anchorage marina. Any tips? Hope to see you on the water. I'm in orange & white 24 Jaws. Safe boating to all !
Anyone gonna be out this weekend? Boats back together again, figure I'll run the river this weekend before heading down to the Chesepeke later weeks.
Bil,
I should be around this weekend. Maybe going down the Philly area on Saturday. |
Brought the boat home today, Working tonight so I don't think I'll be out until Sunday.
what a mess it was sun.. I hit more crap out there.. gave up and took the boat out...
I'm hoping this Sunday will be a little cleaner. I just want to run it here before taking it back down the Chesepeke again. I need to take it easy on these drives so they hold together and have some resale value at the end of the season. Selling these SC's and going with the SCX's. Should be the end of my weakness?
yeah, they should hold up better.. Thats 1 reason I went with outboards, I wanted a 32 w/ inboards but I wanted #5 or 6's... got to pricey..
Had a really nice day out on Sunday. Boat ran good, NOTHING BROKE! Anchored up in Tully Cove with friends. Seemed to be a fair amount of boats out. Hot as heee but there was quite a breeze most of the day. Burned some gas and called it a day. Felt great to get out.
Looking forward to Rock the Bay, Aug. 5th & 6th right? BBQ's this weekend and it's 100+ degrees, lots of fluids. |

August 13th a bunch of us are meeting up at Turkey Point in the Chesapeake Bay for the Hap Hazzard Run. It is an informal (free) run that a guy named Hap sets up every year. usually gets a chopper for an hour to take pictures, not scheduled for this year yet.
Run to Watermans or wild duck, cant remember, then to red eyes. Free to all as long as your not a psycho.:drink: |

I think i've seen you boat on the trailer by my mothers house. She lives on Meridian street in Philly. The Hap run on the 13th of Aug. Here's the info from facebook You asked for it, so here it is! The 4th Annua Hazzard Run will be held on August 13th. This year the run will start from Turkey Point at approximately 10:30am. We will run to the Wild Duck on The Middle River for lunch then proceed to The Jetty Dock Bar & Red Eyes in the Kent Narrows for the night. Lunch & dinner at the Wild Duck & Jetty/Red Eyes will be a la carte, you order off their menu (no entry fee/pre-paid lunch & dinner like last year). Staying the night at the Jetty/Red Eyes is optional, if you decide to stay slips are available at Mears Point Marina, 410-827-8888. If you want to run to the Jetty & Red Eyes and hang out for a few hours then head back up north that is fine. If you decide to stay, we will raft up in front of Red Eyes for the weekly Bikini Contest. For those who want to stay the night, but dont want to stay on their boat or have extra riders, there are hotels in the Narrows. As of right now, there will not be a helicopter taking pictures. We are working on it, but no guarantee. This is an informal fun run. The only objective is to get a bunch of good people together for a fun time on the bay without having to spend a lot of money to do it. |

Yep, that's me. I live right on the corner. I don't usually keep the boat there, only if we're coming or going in a day or two. One neighbor has a cop addiction and likes to complain. Hey if your over your moms and you see my red dually, knock on the door and intro yourself. Thanks for the 13th info, gonna check and see if we can make it. |
Looking into the race down at Solomons Sept 26/27? Longer tow down but not too far. Anyone thinking on this?
Should be out on Sunday for a few hours. I have night work but 10-4 should be OK.
Shady River huh. I do work out of there. Was always wondering who runs there. If I didn't have plans I'd be there. I live in Brigantine

We're heading down to the Chesepeke Bay for the Rock the Bay run on Aug 26/27. I don't plan on entering the run but follow along and rubberneck. If anyone else wants to come along it should be fun. Plan on hanging at Jellies for the day which is a stop in the afternoon return trip for the run.
PS, I heard there was an orange cat out on the river today, anybody know wher he runs out of? |
I was out there yesterday..

I saw it sunday. Sounds likeit had nice power too. Never seen it before and dont know where it came from. I was at burlington island and it was heading north about mid afternoon.
We're gooing down early on Saturday morning. It's the second day and the run takes off from the goose at 10am. I hope to be there around 8 and want to be out on the water before they take off. I figure it will be crowded but most boats should be in the water from the day before? Leaving Philly around 6am. Give me a call if you want to head down with us, 215-768-4172 Bill.
As for that orange cat, I didn't see it but my cop friends did, said it sounded good. Anybody else in for Rock the Bay? Just for fun? Not beating up on the boat, need to sell these Imco SC's at the end of this season. |
i wont be able to head down that early, i start 3 rd shift next monday and hopefully i will be home by 8 and be down there by 9:30. gonna see if i can get out an hour or so early.
Bring my number with you, My wife hates to leave so early so I'll let you know if it gets pushed back later.
im gonna try to get out of work early, if i can i will get off the train in trenton at 6:40 and be ready to leave my house in bensalem at 7:10 gonna fuel up on friday. i will give you a call on saturday morning when im leaving here to meet up if you leave late. if not it shouldn't be hard to spot each other down there. your in a bright red cat and im in a bright red twin outboard.
Looks like MookyMonkey isn't going to make the trip. We have another couple riding with us and are booking rooms at the Holiday Inn Express for Saturday night. I guess we'll leave Philly around 8:00 now so we can meet up with you and anyone else going? The rest stop on south 95 below Wilmington has plenty of room. Say we meet there around 8;30-9?
Does anyone know how the tides affect the ramp in National Park across from the Navy Yard for launching and retrieving your boat?
i have to wait for tuesday to make sure i can get off of work early. as long as that is good i will meet you at the rest stop if you are going to leave around 8 i should be right behind you after you leave.
