Trailered the Cig to Somers Point yesterday. Didn't get her in the water until 5pm. Went out to the inlet to jump some waves :coolcowboy: then had dinner at the Waterfront or whatever they call it today. All in all a good day.

fireboatpilot 09-06-2011 10:29 AM

Whos in for the Chesapeke this weekend? We're leaving Friday morning and staying until Sunday. Rock the Bay is Friday and Saturday. We're not doing the run just tagging along. Probly Jellies one day and Red Eyes the other, who knows?

demag67 09-06-2011 05:18 PM

Weather is supposed to be nice Saturday and Sunday, I was thing jellyfish joels on Saturday and red eyes on Sunday. I've been trying to get other boats to go but no luck. By how they are talking in the event section its not gonna be a big turn out. That's ok the bash should be a lot of fun

I tried.. put in and lost a starter...

demag67 09-08-2011 02:53 PM

fireboat, you are still going down this weekend right? i am hoping the weather some how holds off but its not looking good and i just gave up 24 hours of overtime plus took a vacation day. the other thing is im hoping there isn't a lot of floating debris in the bay.

fireboatpilot 09-08-2011 06:18 PM

We're leaving tomorrow early AM like 8. When are you coming down? Far as I know, the run is still on. It looks like if it rains, it will be only for short bursts? We're hooked up and packed already, just have to ice down the coolers in the morning. Let me know what your plans are as far as time line and getting in touch down there, Jellies has crap for reception but we should run into each other at the ramp on Sat. morning? You still have my number right?

demag67 09-08-2011 06:49 PM

I am hoping to leave no later than 6:30 Saturday morning. I have your number. Just have to stop at the flying j right near your hotel to get gas in boat. 15 cents cheaper a gallon there than up here. Will give you a call when I am fueling up. Hopefully I will be there before you go to the ramp since I have never been there before.

fireboatpilot 09-08-2011 07:26 PM

OK, that's a good idea. Call me from the flying J, it's right up the road from the Holiday Inn. Call me from there, that should be around 8 ish. We'll meet up at the Holiday Inn and go to the ramp together. We usually stop for breakfast on the way at the Pancake House so don't eat. We can all get aquainted over breakfast then head to the ramp, which may or may not be mobbed?

demag67 09-08-2011 08:16 PM

Sounds good, hopefully we will get in the water in a decent amount of time

jln 09-09-2011 08:18 AM

Bill, you guys have a safe run, post Mark up on the bow as a lookout and keep it under 60. hopefully before the end of the year we can all meet up at tully cove or somewhere for a last run. I have not run into anyone yet other than you and Mark

fireboatpilot 09-12-2011 12:30 AM

Rock the Bay run turned out to be a good time. Friday and Saturday it rained during the overnight hours and each morning started out cloudy but by noon each day the sun came out and we had a great time. The water had alot of crap in it on Friday, Sat it was better with CRAZY fog until noon or so then the run went off with a modified route but it was all good.

Demag, it was nice to meet you and your wife, hope to see you on the 18th at the Bordentown sandbar. Let me know a specific time if you can. I don't know if I'll have my boat. I'll look into the popping tomorrow.

jln, too bad you couldn't make the run. this weekend will probly be my last for the season? We'll see, drives are coming off and being sold. Time for SCX's, no more weak links. Maybe you can make it up on the 18th?

demag67 09-12-2011 07:48 AM

low tide is at 2:10 so i will be up there around 10:30 to 11:00 for the 18th. we had a great time down on the chesapeake. thanks for inviting us out to dinner. hopefully you can get out for one more time this year.

jln 09-12-2011 08:38 AM

Bill , good to hear you made out ok , friday night i went to the riverwalk in deptford , its right on the delaware . there were so many large logs and debris in the water. hopefully it clears out soon. i know Mark said he had another run or two before season ends . hopefully i can make the next outing.

fireboatpilot 09-12-2011 03:32 PM

Well I guess I should have borrowed that allen wrench from you afterall. There was some moisture in the cap, cleared it out and seems to be fine, what a lazy AZZ I am. We'll be out Sunday and check it for sure under load but on the hose, no issues. Now if the weather will just give us a break?

demag67 09-12-2011 04:37 PM

at least it is an easy fix

demag67 09-12-2011 04:39 PM

hopefully i will be running a little faster if i can find a set of 26 or 28 pitch bravos or hydromotives. i thought i was running to high but i found out when i am calculating my prop slip numbers i was using wrong gear ratio. gonna try my 26 choppers but not too sure about them.

mookymonkey 09-14-2011 01:59 PM

keep me posted on the times

demag67 09-14-2011 10:31 PM

mark, i will give you a call sunday morning to let you know what time exactly i am heading out.

Baja555 09-15-2011 03:04 PM

mookymonkey 09-16-2011 04:25 AM

fireboatpilot 09-16-2011 08:05 AM

Yea, CHICKEN?

demag67 09-16-2011 10:31 AM

keep me in the loop for next weekend

scottw 09-18-2011 06:05 AM

Leaving for Anchor around 9 and going somewhere on the bay. Maybe a lunch run to Watermans.

demag67 09-18-2011 09:54 AM

Next weekend has a possibility of rain but will be in mid 70s. Long as I'm not working and its not raining gonna head out for a ride.

JTeam 09-19-2011 05:09 PM

Are there still trees floating down the river or has it gotten any better?

HiPerf2000 09-19-2011 09:39 PM

i was out over the weekend, and the water was pretty clean

fireboatpilot 09-20-2011 06:17 PM

Looks like Sunday for me, I have to work Saturday.

Baja555 09-20-2011 06:22 PM

anyone headed to shady river this sun?

Craney 09-20-2011 08:50 PM

Maybe if the weather is good.

mookymonkey 09-22-2011 12:12 PM

will run on this sunday. need to burn some gas....

fireboatpilot 09-24-2011 10:30 PM

OK, just got back in from the casino fireworks and the river is doomed for tomorrow. It looks twice as bad as it did from the hurricane. As bad as I would like to go out and burn up that fuel, I'm not gonna be dodging debris all afternoon and risk hitting something. I couldn't steer clear of some of the rafts of crap with the fireboat so I know it's trouble going a little faster. Man this sucks!

demag67 09-24-2011 10:38 PM

i was thinking the same thing, have to put some stabil in and run the boat, gonna give mark a call in the morning and let him know gonna try for next weekend again. im trying to get a new set of props if i can get rid of one or two sets that i have. if so i will be out in the snow to test them if need be.

JTeam 09-25-2011 08:36 AM

Thanks for the update. The sun finally came out and I was thinking about going for a ride, but you confirmed what I thought I saw when I went over the Betsy Ross bridge yesterday.

Baja555 09-26-2011 06:28 AM

Shady river was empty.. passed 3 boats on way out to Ocean City...

mookymonkey 09-28-2011 08:20 AM

my father checked the river in his boat yesterday. said it was pretty clean. im in for a run. any day is fine with me

demag67 09-28-2011 04:51 PM

Mook, im trying to find my thrust washers to my old set of props. i sold my old set and buying a set off of sick stinger.. when i get the props i am definetly going out, have to get some numbers before the winter so i can send the props out to bblades during winter.
