I got my 4 place enclosed trailer for 2 grand. Only problem is that a drunk driver had parked his car in the front corner of it. We replaced all the panels with new and welded in new support bars. Looks new now but man was it a lot more work then I thought it would be. Anyone have any old tracks laying around? I want to use them for track mats in the trailer.

noyzee 08-23-2011 08:49 AM

lol, nice sounds fun. i just got a new trailer last year and love it. best thing i did, and i have room for 3 sleds.

this is before i put the wheels on my truck

Noyzee, is that trailer a 7X18? If so you can fit 4 in there.

noyzee 08-24-2011 12:54 PM

crash, that is a strong mount for go pro. lol

10m, no its a 7.5x16 with a 4 foot nose. i can go 2 forward and one backwards and fit 3. thats it. i didnt have room to go to the 18. over all the one i got is 23 feet. the 18 foot was 26 feet and i have about 21 feet to put it. so it sticks out 2 feet. if it stuck out anymore i wouldnt be able to use my driveway.
sucks but atleast i can carry 3. one trail sled and race sled for me, and my girls 600 plus lots of room for tools, covers, heaters, gas tanks, helmets etc etc.
very poss i could fit 4 xp's in there but not revs with a mach z.

When talking Ski-Doo's Power TEK is not the same as E-TEC, right? So what is the difference?

PowerTEK is the old 800 that came out in 05. Strong motor...150+ HP. It uses carbs and gets decent mileage...15 MPG or so. They still use it on 2 or 3 sleds.

E-tec 800 came out last year at 163 HP and uses E-tec, which I delive is a direct injection system(no carbs). Some guys were gettign 20 MPG's.

E-tec is a lot more expensive, has more things that can go wrong, lighter throttle pull(easier to start too I would imagine), adds a few pounds.

Actually the original Powertek was used from 05 to 07, and was carburated but had electronic knock sensors, and a few more HP, about 140. In '08 the motor was completely new (the Powertek 800R). It was carburated, had a 3 stage RAVE valve, monoblock cylinders and liquid cooled crankcase. This was 155HP. In late 2010 they released the Etec, which was actually an evinrude technology. It is completely direct injected, computerized, and very oil and fuel efficient. Makes 165HP. This is the only 800 they offer now, except possibly a Summit model.

Ah yes, the 800 went to an 800R when the XP chassis came out. Forgot about that.

Looks like the 800R PowerTEK is only available in a Summit this year. Last year it was availabel in a TNT and Renegade. There were some GREAT prices on them as everyone was after the E-TEC.

Way to go Adam!! The sport is awesome and we have some great trips and it keeps your drinking tolerance up in the off season. We just need to get Scot, Kev, Jeff and Justin in. You boys can jump in the sport for as little as $3k and if you want out you can always sell your stuff, they are not like boats. For less then $14k you can have the baddest sled out there all done up, actually you can get something great for $10k.

302Sport 08-24-2011 09:50 PM

I go up to killington but just for the happy hours and post happy hours :drink:

noyzee 08-25-2011 08:58 AM

yea, my 800 is in my 05, its ported with a few tweaks. im able to beat most e techs on the lake i had a little trouble with one last year but it was all done up, and so quick out of the hole (lighter sled, with team secondary) i had a hard time catching up. but thats when you hit the go go button on the bars!!

for anyone interested. im selling my mach z, it has 1000 miles on it, great great condition!! like new!!! i will sell it as is with twin pipes, digitron, boondocker box and nitrous kit all set up for snow or ice racing. with minimal work it could go to a tral sled or full race. what ever you want. i will sell in any configuration including back to stock.
back to stock i will sell for $4500 all done up the way it is $6500

sled is almost 100% perfect. never crashed. chassie was smoked tested in wind tunnel and made 100% straight.

sled is mint and fast!!!

Wind tunnel testing for a sled? Are you serious?!?

yes, its to be sure the sled is 100% straight, if the chassie is tweaked at all it will create resistance and slow the machine down. the less drag on the sled the better and faster it will run. it also tells what to remove and where to cover up etc. .

stangkilr 08-26-2011 12:49 PM

Where do you have that done? Is it somewhere local? Can they do other things like cars?

I ride an 07 MXZ Blizzard 600 SDI and my daughters ride an 04 polaris supersport. Iride primarily in NH. Got friends in Plymouth and Loudon so I always have a place to crash without spending money on lodging. Been riding for 11 years now. Absolutley love the sport of snowmobiling. just got into boating this year. I average about 1200 miles per year reagardless of conditons.... if I need to travel further north I travel further north!

If you haven't ever tried this sport you hafta give it a try....like others have said... you can have a badass sled for 14k with all the gear you need to be warm and toasty...

I would love to post a pic of my sleds but i do not know how to post pics on this site... can anyone point me in the right direction to do so?

Upload your photos to photo bucket ( or some other FREE picture hosting service) and then post links to the photos! That's what most of us do especially if you post a lot from a mobile device :drink:

Use mothers billet polish and let the rag get black and keep rubbing until dry then put baking flour on a clean rag a decent amount and wipe of the black residue. You will be surprised how much easier it is to take off with the flour. You are going to have to do it several times then just maintain it.

noyzee 09-20-2011 02:24 PM

never heard the flour trick before. hhmmm. ill have to try it.
i use a polish called ez shine. i get it from indy auto parts here in peabody ma. it works better then mothers. it has a mild abrasive to it and it cuts the dull part faster and leaves a great shine. i tried woody wax to keep it nice but it didnt do a thing for it.

it took me atleast 8 hours to get it like it is, then i have to do it after every ride to keep it looking good. but if i do it after every ride its about 20 min a side so its not bad. but i started off with a brand new sled and kept up with it

Not cold you just need the right gear, expensive??? cheaper then a new Bravo drive, all male activity......if you say so. A weekend away drinking eating going fast priceless!!!! Don't knock it til you try it, there is a good reason why many boaters own sleds too:drink:

I hear your boat accelerates pretty hard. Even a 600cc sled will pull harder. An 800?...Forget about it.

There ain't nothing like it. Give it a shot!

I rode out of my buddies house in Plymouth last year(right near Ludlow). I love that area of VT. They got hit HARD by Irene though. There is going to be limited snowmobiling in the southern and central parts of the states this year.
