Cool part about these boats is power doesnt mean that much. I remember moving the drive height up an 1/8 inch with my boat and picking up 4mph, but it didnt handle as well. Went from 8in setback to 10, and couldnt keep the bow down in a chop. Setup is everything, its going to be a lot of fun to watch it all play out this season.

Maybe we all should convert our trailers like Simmons and bring 2 boats, now that would be trick. Same paint jobs and look.

Thumbs up

I recall sitting with Mark and Christian before the class was introduced at the meeting. 21-23' with a max hp of 250 I believe. Mark or Christian can confirm HP. It is a bracketed class like the others classes as well. There was interest years ago and the interest is back again. No need to make the class crazy by allowing inboards. It is an Outboard class only. Class 6 and above are for inboards that is what was decided.

This to can become as big class like 5 & 6 in time. Keeping it simple and not complicating it will make the class a hit. There are a ton of 21-23's out there as well as ex F-class boats which raced years ago. Just have to do a lil homework and find them. I believe the 23' limit was to not deter the smaller hulls from coming out to play.

I look forward to seeing this class grow for sure. Should be a really fun class to watch plus I like the sounds of an outboard anyway!!

Hey pal, we all are on some sort of budget. Many of us have worked hard to get the equipment we have and make it competitive. No one is going to hand it to you. You want to be a racer? Quit crying and find a way. Otherwise, watch from the beach.

Well said! I think its terrific OPA is trying to start a sob class. Assuming the boats show up, it will make for exciting racing I think. Good luck to all involved. Bw
